Just curious where in Netherlands is town or city where wumen were mostly badly dressed, T shirts and eate hamburgers instead of cooking borsh?? My boyfriend works in NL, so next time Ill visite him I want to see that miracle.
"Annika please read carefully" sorry about that a little help here:
they = pron. (obj. them; poss. their, theirs) 1 pl. of *he, *she, *it. 2 people in general (so they say). 3 those in authority (they have raised taxes). [Old Norse]
I = pron. (obj. me; poss. my, mine; pl. we) used by a speaker or writer to refer to himself or herself. [Old English]
But lets try: worst dressed women in? maybe Helmond.
Where they were t shirts? varies.
Where they eat bortsch? Nowhere. cabbagesoup maybe.
Where they eat hamburgers? Mc Donald, everywhere.
Now i'm busy with the dictionary.
bortsch n. Russian soup of beetroot, cabbage, etc. [Russian]
Borscht (Polish: barszcz, Russian: במנש, Ukrainian: במנש, also borshch, borsch) is a type of hearty Eastern and Central European vegetable soup. The type of the soup that is named borsch differs slightly by culture. In Russian cuisine, all borscht has beets, potatoes and cabbage. In Ukrainian and Polish cuisine, the potatoes and cabbage are optional. Yet in Mennonite cuisine, borscht refers generically to soup and may not have beets at all. Other common ingredients include: tomatos, carrots, chicken, beans, onions, and mushrooms.
Noun 1. borscht - a Russian soup usually containing beet juice as a foundation
Synonyms: borsch, borsh, borshch, borsht, bortsch
Well an almost unrelated question. Somewhere was mentioned that Dutch birthday parties suck, witch is true btw. But the writer continued with something like bring out the lettuces and potatoes. How do you celebrate birthdays (grownup birthdays)?
Pitchka,
A country that transits through 'westernization' not only sees the marital and eating habits changes that Ron described.
You will see changes in financial methods and cultural influences, as well.
Remember what we discussed a while back about "Cash vs. Bank cards", etc?
Some of these changes are positive and progressive for any society, but with them also come the negativity of things such as militant western feminism, that aims to destroy the core of traditional marriage & family values in every place it can set its roots.
I was looking up a word to do with feminism and i came across a site of how to protect you against a domestic violence claim. I already seen before some dishonesty in law but this is really ridiculous, the words feminazi etc become more and more understandable.
Borscht is Russian. Yeah Yeah and french fries are from Franch.
The first dictionary is Pocket Oxford Dictionary from 1994.
The second dictionary is Wikipeda, if you disagree you can change Wikipeda by submitting your own article.
Are you going to post the website that gives information on how to protect ourselves agains false domestic violence claim?
or are you going to keep it a secret, lol?
http://www.dvmen.org/ basicaly you can't protect yourself just attempt damage control.
But i'm not so sure it is opportune to post it in the open. I know of a way how a RW could live out of my pocket for up to 5 year and as there is probably nothing i can do about it i'm not gonne post it here, someone might get an idea.
Ron, english is my 4. language. Of course I make mistakes and I know what borscht is I had that soup some days ago at home. Im interested Just you write wrong things about dutch wumen, they are much thinner in older age than russians. They are nicely dressed and wear nice tops. All people I know dont eate hamburgers, but like to go greec or jugoslavian restaurant. Are you dutch yourself? Ill tell next time to my friends how men in Holland see them!!!!
Ron, I have so good opinion of dutch people. You sort of ruined the picture, if you are dutch of course. They are so friendly and tolerant, most of them happy family life.
Apology certainly accepted for the comment regarding me being a "nongentleman".
Latest news from Latvia: I got mugged.
One night I went to "Old Town" a normally well patrolled section - the oldest in Riga. The streets are narrow the building some of the original in Riga. There are some nightclubs - one of which I went to alone. I had a little to drink - which seemed to affect me more than usual.
I followed a "taxi driver" who said that he would take me home. I was led down a narrow dark alley - where I NEVER would have gone had I not been feeling very strange. He struck me in the back of the head with his fist and many other places - I tripped on the curb and he began kicking my face.
Knowing I was in a bad predicament I offered my money, but not my documents, by opening my wallet. He tried to take the wallet we struggeled and it ripped in half. Fortuantely - all but my license and one credit card remained in my half.
I am bruised in several places, embarrassed that I could be duped into following this guy into a dark alley and $160 poorer (no big deal) but otherwise okay. My lip is swollen but my teeth are intact.
Others have told me that in such circumstances other victims have not been so lucky. In contrast to other Eastern Eurpoean countries the police were very cooperative and helpful - but of course nothing was recovered and no one was caught.
Guys - even the Baltic States have inherent danger - but them again so does New York or Chicago.
So, Jet, what have you learned?
NEVER to leave your drink out of sight for even a second, because anybody can slip something in it. Has happened to me as well, but I did not loose anything other than my grin.
And don't be so melodramatic to what may have happened to others - have fun there, enjoy!
Thunder - my intent was not to be melodramiatic - but having told a few others about the incident I learned of similar situations where stabbing, tooth..extraction and broken ribs resulted.
I did have the foresight to take insurance that would cover me against monetary loss. Even that will be replaced. The swollen lip is barely noticeable, the cuts on the hand are still evident and that hand which I defended my face with is bruised. And there is some discomfort in my walk - but hey I was out with the lady I met the next night and I had the best time here in Latvia yet.
Chauk it up to experience. As I mentioned before I live in an area that is almost devoid of crime - so nothing in my years had prepared me for this.
But the guy did not even get most of the money I had on me - it was tucked safely in another place.
I am in fairly good shape - which no doubt helps my recuperative processes. Years ago I earned a blue belt in a form of karate - but I seem to recall learning that at the point where you are alone - laying on the ground - fending off kicks to the face - it is best to give up the cash and not try and be a hero.
I cannot believe the incredible woman that I met here in Latvia. There is a traditional meeting place here. It is a relatively small clock tower known as the "Laimes Clock" named after a local brand of candy. She agreed to meet me and at the appointed time I was scanning the crowd for the face I remembered from her ad on fiance.com. In the distance I saw a woman approach me with the most incredible smile I have ever seen.
I have to admit I though this place was a bust until this angel entered my life.
I have come to Eastern Europe three times now. Never once have I been really sure that I had found what I was looking for. Never once had I really met anyone that I was certain I anted to write a fiance visa for. Never had I met anyone who absolutely stle my breath away. Never once had I found all of the qualities (including integrity and complete honesty) that I was looking for in such an incredible and beautiful woman until now. But alas, there are definaite and absolute signs that it will not work out despite my hope and dreams.
I will be in Latvia for only two more days. You may want to release your deep breath. Because, alas, the "rest of the story" does not appear that it will be good.
Yes...that and four big Long Island Iced Teas (for each of us). Spent $80 on those drinks (plus a bowl of ice cream for her and cheese cake for me). But it was woth every penny.
BACK IN THE USA...WHAT MORE CAN I SAY-Y-Y-Y BACK IN THE US, BACK IN THE US, BACK IN THE USA...!!
Okay, Latvia has a few really terrific thing. The best three things about Latvia in reverse order.. are:
# 3.The 800 year old architechture - beautiful buildings each of which has a fascinating story.
# 2.Some of the best food in Eastern Europe (and that is saying a lot). I ESPECIALLY love this place called Lido - Its family (or buffet) style - but don't let that scare you away. The food was great.
# 1. This incredible girl that I met. Don't know if it will work - there are a lot of reasons it could fail - but she is ruly like no one else in the world. And SHE IS INCREDIBLE.
