Yesterday I was on free pizza event – Mix & Mingles. There were not any American guys there. And I watched how young pretty girl react on guy whom she saw for the first time and whom she really liked.
She stood up from the table and went away to look for door prizes. She is type of country girl.
That means that if you guys are looking for calm, country type girls, then do not be disappointed by Ice Greeting on the first time then you see a girl. Sometimes that can means that she really likes you. And I think that her behavior is rather common among pretty girls.
Bagira,
Was this an event to meet foreign or local men?
I read many times different tales of how different russian people are in public and in private regarding smiles and displays of affection, but I cannot say that of Lena.
She did smile a lot even when we were outdoors...maybe it was all the pirouttes I was doing trying to walk on ice..:))
One comment I will add that surprised while in St. Petersburg is that both in the subway station and in the trains, NO ONE talked. That was a little earie compared to what I'm used to in New York, Washington D.C. , etc.
On the flight to Ekaterinburg from Frankfurt, the plane was silent as a cemetery. Izzy and I where the only ones talking, laughing, and overall looking like we actually looked forward to being in Siberia...Some of the russians and germans on thep lane looked at me like saying: "You moron, what's wrong with you. Did you get on the wrong plane? Wipe the grin off your stupid face. you're going to Siberia for crying outloud!!
And boy I could wait to get there soon enough...:))
Yeah it was like that wasn't it?
Of course the excited chatter, the 2 bouquets of roses in the center seat with the seat belt on and the goofing with the crew didn't help I suppose. We were talking excitedly about our hopes and the girls and they all thought we were idiots. I was sucking down wine which was practice for my later event.
That's cool though because I am an idiot! And proud of it. I used to idiot for England - gold medallist. The whole experience made me feel like a teenager again.
Incidentally I don't think that the fact that we seat belted the roses in place would have helped in the case of a crash. I think they would still have been damaged.
What the hell was that security gestapo agent looking for in your suitcase so dilligently for Toad? All the guns and ammunition was dropped in separately. The plastique strapped to my leg didn't even set the alarms off. Buffoons.
However I must say that I was enthusiastically frisked by a young lady in Frankfurt on the way back. I didn't mind but I felt so used afterwards. Not even a box of chocolates. Nothing.
The russian x-ray machine showed and oversized box full of metal pieces....It freiked him out, but it was actually a small box full AA & AAA Duracell batteries....he looked VERY relieved when he saw it. I could tell he was not scared but very concerned.
On the way back I also got frisked in Frankfurt, THREE effing time, by not very friendly dudes with very little patience. One of them said "Empty your pockets and put your arms wide"..I said: "Which one you want me to do first, I need my arms to empty my pockets"..."Keep your arms wide in the air"..."Ok", i said...When the hand held went beeepp he yells: "I told you to empty your pockets"..."NO, you told me to keep my arms wide"..."NO, I didn't.."...I said: "OK, you're right I'm wrong, what do you want me to do next"...."Empty your pockets, but keep your arms wide..."......AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!
Weren't the germans the first to complain about the abuse of prisoners in Iraq at the hands of US soldiers???...Looks like they will be suing the US government for Property Rights Violations.
There was a lot of tension going through Frankfurt. I could see it in the faces of everyone in that wing of the airport.
I asked a shop keeper that sold me some bottled water and he said: "It's always tense when the jew planes arrive"...Then I connected the dots. As my plane was taxing into the terminal, we passed an El Al 747 surrounded by at least 6 armored military wehicles and more than 30 soldiers in full combat regalia.
Later things got more complicated because at least 60-70 orthodox jews in full custome boarded the same plane heading to NY I was in.
So there I was in my second leg of a three tier flight plan in a 747 full of crotch scratching New Yorker and coin counting orthodox jews with targets painted on their back...
"Swell" I said to myself. All I need right now is Ali Baba hiding in some obscure building waiting hoping he finishes reading the intructions manual of his shoulder RPM gun before or right after my NY bound plane takes off from Frankfurt.
I bet the german security was happy to see both US bound planes leave once and for all.
Even though as passengers we are the sacrificial lambs to any potential attack, I do not envy any of those german or other airport security personnel that has to live with that shit 24/7/365.
My suitcases also got broken into, the locks ruined and left a note saying, WE DID IT, BUT WE DID NOT TAKE ANYTHING FROM YOU.
Well, thank you, guys..sshheesshhh
I was there and tried to encourage the bastard. The frigging number coded lock did a self lock and would not come undone. i never use that lock, the suitcase has plenty of others. Bloody thing activated through the scanner. It would not come undone and the clock is spinning around. This 'expert' had 2 screwdrivers and no brain. I had to help him. All this so they can take a quick shufty inside and asay on you go.
TO THE NEXT SECURITY GATE !!!!
Nazis !
I have been trying to find a cheap flight at the end of June and nothing. $1700 is the best I can do. HELP !!!
Orbitz sucks.
I am taking a drill to that combination lock. Never again.
As for cavity searches - what the hell do they think is up there?
It is only so big people. An uzi isn't going to fit. I don't think so anyway. Think you would have to swallow the bullets.
This thread is becoming disgusting. I can't take it. Where is Martin when you need him. Come on dude shut the forum down again. You have a duty damn it.
However Scot you do have a good point. Also I don't want to hear anybody humming Moon River either....
