1 April is non-official "the Day of Laugh". People tell jokes to each other, newspapers and TV publish funny stories and jokes. The motto of this day: Do not trust anybody on 1 April ("Pervoye aprelya - nikomu ne veryu").
I don't know if you Americans have this tradition, but here in Norway it is live and kicking.. It is all about fooling someone to do something...
You could tell her you think you might lost something behind her house last time you were there, and ask her to go outside and have a look for it.. (Make sure you tell a specific place, so she wont be on her knees all day long looking for it..)
This was just an example.. (Bad one by the way..)
You have to be creative, because everyone is very much on the alert this day...
Last year the media here told that there had been some mistakes according to taxes, all files was lost in a datacrash, and people had to call a specific number to be registered if they wanted refund they were supposed to have.. Every one that had paid too little would go free... A lot of people had forgotten about the date, and called in..
Someone once told me it is no real joke untill you get someone to walk through a door.. But I guess it is different traditions in different places..
Yes, the 1 of April comes closer and closer:) A person should be very very careful on this day:) Usually, at least here, there are innocent jokes among friends, the most popular "hey your back is all white":) TV or newspapers don't make any big jokes on people, actually everybody tries the jokes to be not harmful and hurting, just fun:)
Dale:))) And why is it so?? Our joke is popular because of the white walls which leave marks on clothes:)) And if a person stands near the wall his clothes may become white:)
