Well - i wasn't able to get connected w/ her this morning. so we'll try again later this week or next weekend..yes Martin - i agree all women are not scammers. their are probably more men scammers than women i would think via keyboard romeos and the like who toy at the hopes and dreams of sincere ladies but never have any real intention of showing and the lady pays with time, effort, heartach and opportunity costs...thanks for the info tboy...the background check will s/b completed in 1-2 weeks - will check back later.
king arthur - i'm not talking about most guys that are sincere. i realize that most guys and girls for that matter, change their minds (myself included) depending on how the course of corresondence goes. you may find something new out 6 months down the road that wasn't known before thus a need to bail out, so you are correct. i was simply referring to the fact that if several sources from various web forums and agencies have said that no more than 95% of men actually visit - then just by the numbers, it seems it "may be possible" obviously i don't know the stats on this nor could I, that
many of these are corresponding shearly out of boredom, cold feet or whatever other reason, so it isn't implausible to say the "percentage" of guys corresponding could be greater who never have any intention of visiting vs. the "percentage" of girls who are corresponding. I would think the total pool of women is much greater than the total pool of men, which would make the percent of women scamming smaller overall. it's just a thought so don't get bent outta shape...
to tboy, the Institute of Culture is located right behind my flat, it was once; not long ago a cinema, at times when not much to do, I ll attend a concert there, very talented students.
packer,
you mean 5% of men actually visit, don't you? This is the story I know. I am persuaded that this is one of the many myths sorrounding the "Russian" women dating world. As far as I know, this particular myth may have originated from elenasmodels website. Think about it. What 5% of what, exactly? What are we talking about, exactly? Who counted? When? What is the sample?
Just an example. Suppose I am corresponding with two ladies, but I am going to actually wisit only one of them. Shall I be included in the percentage of the men who actually visit or in that of the men who don't visit?
kingarthur,
In that scenario then yes, you would count as one 'waster'. Come off it, if a lady were writing to you and she decided not to see you then you would count her as a 'waster'.
Take into consideration all these internet 'girlie' sites where guys have to pay money to jerk-off to a pretty lady but they can communicate with these 'Russian Babes' for free, I don't know the answer but just have a guess that a high percentage of letter writers are just writing to get a buzz, or something else, from it.
As others will know I have friends in, indeed owning, a dating agency in Zaporozhye, I hear it all the time in conversations with the ladies, they become frustrated because one guy after another fall within the 95% and decline to travel or simply stop the letters.
But it is all to the good for serious guys, a lady could be writing to 20 men but, by this statistic, only 1 will travel to meet her, he who dares wins :)
kingarthur,
That was just the tip, I have heard, from the ladies, of guys sending naked photo's of themselves, of wanting to 'get dirty' in letters etc etc. etc.
Martin:
I am AMAZED from time to time that some guys think a naked picture of themselves is what these women are looking for. I've met two guys who think that some day they might want to travel to the FSU. Both heard that I have visited the FSU and both told me (after the fact of course) that they hoped to instill some interest in some ladies who's addresses they have purchased, by sending nude pictures of themselves. They were very dissappointed (OF COURSE) by the fact that the FSU lady hadn't shown any interest or hadn't written back to them.
And its THEN that they ask me what they did WRONG. Well...DUH!?!?!
You've got to woner about these guys. What were they thinking? Were they thinking at all? Its doubtful on both counts.
jetmba,
I can only presume that 'your' guys believed that they had been the only guy to purchase that particular address and the lady would be waiting only for him, how he introduced himself is another matter :)
My wife makes me laugh because, as an agency manager & interpreter, she would be reading these letters and opening these pictures. I recall once she was talking with another lady about a guy's pics and when I questioned what was so special about these pics she just gave me one of those smiles and said 'don't ask'. I picked up later in the conversation what was so special about the pics and we had a good laugh about it :)
Martin:
They weren't MY guys. I barely knew them. And I'm sure that it matters little if they believed that they were the only people to purchase those addresses. To have been so culturally naive - as to believe that FSU women were putting up profiles of themselves in order to see naked American men (and not very good specimins in these two cases at that) is simply incredible.
Forum is quiet today. I hope that it because members are taking time to change their tactics and have new non-nude pictures of themselves for future letters. :)))
