I personally met men who thought they were writing to girls... and I met girls from that agency... WHY NOBODY CARE???? Why so much screaming about small groups or individual scammers when there is huge scam business running??? They even have a South American thing going with an agency doing latino girls on the same model as C.C Kharkov. Its a case of most of the girls being real people but the letters are not and more than often sent out to unsupsecting dudes by the agency who writes them and the girls don't know or get a kick back. Con Connections is a CON..its one of the biggest scams on the internet. You pay to send e-mail responses at about $7 usd a letter, and you got lots of fake e-mail ( canned e-mail and responses from the agency..not the girl ). Keep away from them. Any agency that does not give out private contact info for its girls and makes men use and pay for there e-mail service and other services such as accomodation should be avoided. They are making lots of money from men paying $7 a piece for fake e-mail from girls and if you use there services ( some are very over priced ),more money. Its a pay to read and write e-mail scam! In Ukraine, there is corruption and apathy and agencies like this are freely allowed to operate and they don't care and will do nothing to stop them..it brings foreign money to there country and the law enforcing officials get payed off and everyones happy..except us men they rip off! Not a good agency..don't use them! The company exist, the women exists and they are trying hard to build a better life for themselves and their child/children. It is in no way easier to find a friend on the internet than it is IRL = it is complicated to date this way, if you are serious in finding a friend for a better part of your future life. Here as in any other place I've tried, mainly the old fashioned way, by meeting IRL. True, there are man translating letters for the women, who often does not master English that well. Eg, the expression "basic English" is really very few words at times, but we have had lunch with teachers (women clients from UAL), with whom one could really have quite interesting discussions. We have found, that the video cameras they have at UAL really work (at times!). We recognice faces and staff, when we are sitting home here in Scandinavia! We had a guide in one of the places, a young teacher, who speak excellent English and was very knowledgeable about the historic places we went to. She took us to good, inexpensive local restaurants, where we had local food and drank from Georgia imported mineral waters. I get a feeling, that some of you my fellow brothers, are searching for the wrong things in Ukraine. To my experience, these women really want to break away and start a new life. The price they are prepared to pay for that, is to team up with some man, who does not in all aspects need to be their Prince Charming. Let's face it, if we are such goodlooking and succesful men, why have we not found anybody back home, like most other? Ukrainian women are just like women in the West, only less spoiled. The women I met so far are striving for a better life, it is as easy as that. And yes, I have sent money to one of the women. $200 to pay for her "sanatorium", my foot. Anybody who has not paid that amount to try to get close to an absolute international beauty (she has the most delicate complexion I ever seen, and such beautiful, natural colors = no make up needed at all!), please raise his hand! UAL never "releases" a clients personal information, until she has actually had the chance to meet you, in an office of UAL, in the presence of an UAL official, so that she can have a fair chance to say "thank you, but no thank you". Only because we travel quite a bit after having written a number of letters, translated not seldom by men at UAL, a woman hasher right to choose and back off, if we do not make something happen in her her gut, when we first meet. So, to make sure UAL attracts only serious women, this is a drawback we have to live with. And this is decalared really clear on the UAL website, for those who care to get this information. Also, to Schengen there has to be a visa issued for the women. They have to travel to an embassy or a consulate in person with their passport, if they have a passport! You have to hand out an invitation and you have to guarantee for their stay here and their safe return, should the woman herself not be able to show this to Western/Schengen standards. This is not like ordering a new computer over the internet! I am on the search for a real woman, one that has got integrity and with whom I can spend many years to come. The woman I search for, is a woman that chooses me of her own free will, because she likes the "package" I am offering. There has to be a balance in everything we do in life. So far I have met more than ten women from this site. They are all good women, different from one another, just as we are. Ukraine is different from the life in the West, but the longing for happiness and security is the same there as it is here. Only, as said, the women of Ukraine are less spoiled than some of the women here. Read CIA/World Fact Book and get some figures. This will make you understand their situation a bit better, hopefully. I have not tried any other dating service in Ukraine, only here in my home country (to no avail, I might add!). UAL is taking much better care of and protecting their women better than any other dating service I have tried. Do yourself a favour and try to look upon this from their side, please. And I'm glad UAL is making some money, so they can keep this thing going. As far as I can see, very few of the women I have been in contact with, have found a new life and a new love, since I joined almost two years ago. There are men and there are women translating for UAL, aka CC. I know at least three women, who I met, who are translators and also clients. The two male translators I have met are good men. And I am pretty sure, that the lady clients feel safer on the first or first few dates, if there is a male translator present. If we get drunk and disorderly and feel we have a right to try the "goods", having travelled and spent money, the translator is a good moderator to have for the women. My strong feeling is, that the letters are at least dictated by the women, and that they are present in the room with the translator and hers/his computer, when the letters are written. I guess I have been answering close to 20 ladies over these past 2 years, and as said, met with 8 in all. I have seen the actual cameras at the locations i named earlier and I've been in the Members Support Room a couple of times. Sorry, I do not have the address to Lugansk. I get it only after I have had an introduction to a lady there. This is next stop on my list, as one of the first ladies I came in contact with lives in Lugansk. She has proved to be very reliable over the years (what do I say here? We are talking about ordinary women, are we not?). So next trip it will be halfway into Russia = Lugansk. This is quite a ride, as we travel by car. Ukraine is the 2nd largest country in Europe! And they do not have German standard on their roads, not just yet... The drivers are trained in Italy, and as they are now going to the EU to get better cars, they suddenly get the chance to trade in an old Volga or Moskowitz with 32 horse (36 if it is a GT), for a VW Passat with 160 or Audi with 260 = one finds a lot of cars out in the vast farmlands and wrapped around powerlines, or as wallpaper look-alike on a building adjacent to the road. So, in essence, I have not seen too much along the lines business is conducted with these people that I do not approve of. For operating in an economy, where 40% is estimated to be outside of the system, I have so far found this company to be fair. And I have been in business most of my life and not been conned a lot. I think... And Mr Jim is right in most things, but I do not understand how Mr Jim think these agancies can survive, if they have to give away the womens names and contact information right away? This is really what they have to sell. Furthermore, few of these women know any English, certainly not good enough to write and understand letters. They need the help of translators. Or would you rather have a conversation in cyrillic? Look at CIA/World Fact Book again, there are very few internet connections in Ukraine. And they are rather costly = very few private persons have access to a connection, and very few have a computor. There are Internet cafés, sure, but then we need someone to change the keyboard from cyrillic to our. We never managed that. I had to use my laptop with my cellphone as modem, and that hurt in the pocketbook, upon return home! The men translators working with UAL are often students at the university, taking English classes. Yes, you can send money via the agency, if you have not met the lady and thus have her address. Well, if you do that and loose your money, you have taken a risk and lost and I for one do not blame the lady! I sent my money to this little beauty in Poltava with Western Union and that went like clock work = she took the money to pay her "sanatorium!!!", and after two weeks I had an urgent request for $220 to but her an Italian furcoat! End of story. If you have not been to Ukraine and seen how these women live, I really wonder if you should have so many views and be so sure about things and their situation. Some of them are almost desperate to improve the situation for their child and herself, and will do almost anything to reach forward/upward. And what is not right and fair in the USofA is in not so few cases fully acceptable over here. If you, my brothers, are mainly Americans, remember that as I see it, much of the driving force these women show, is the same kind that built your country some 150 years back! People that dared to pull their roots and move away to the unknown. West, this time again, as it was when the USofA was built. And yes, I'm sure in the kind of economy that is today present in Ukraine, they have their fair share of hoods and crooks. We had our dealings with the high way patrol, the only civil servants in Ukraine that are fat = we had to pay our speeding tickets in cash, € or $, no receipt, of course, even if we were passed on both sides at the check points. Foreign car and foreign registration plate is not a benefit in these cases...! But we had some laughs on how to make a living! All in all, I recommend that you go to Ukraine first and share your views and experiences afterwards. I, for one, will be all ears, I need to learn a lot more. And I do not think I have ever seen so many beautiful buts anywhere else in the world. But then again, I have not even been to 40 countries on 5 continents, I have a lot more to see. Remember never miss what you never have. The girls I have met were not in raggatty old clothes and starving. They dress very nice and seem to be doing very well. Now some might want more but at what price?? The guy has to have something to offer better than what girl has now, of course I am generalizing, but I don't see the their situaton as dire. But, I don't think they miss what they haven't had, they miss what they see we have. And what they see on the tv screens in their clubs and bars from is tv-shows from the West, from fasion shows, the cat walk! So, of course in that aspect they have funny expectations on life in the West! And yes, many are nicely dressed, but to my taste, perhapes a little bit on the tacky side, in comparisson to what we have here in Scandihoolia. Again, this is a matter of taste, should not be discussed in these terms. And the quality of their attire is not exactly haute couture.., they simply can't get to that and if it is present in their shops, it's simply for the women of the oligarchs and such-like. And there are fortunes being made in Ukraine, as we speak. Just see how many gas stations there are along the roads, for so few cars. Amazing. Yes, like most peolpe these girls are striving to step up in life, and yes, there is a price to be paid. And yes, there are golddiggers and at times they come in totaly breattakingly beautiful shapes and forms. I know this from experience and I for one eat from their hands and end up paying up! That's the kind of sucker I am, and I loved every second of it and it gave me many laughs. On me!! Of course they make do one way or another, but they live with limited resourses in pretty tight quarters in these housing complexes totaly lacking finess and even more so, maintainance! But when I got inside their doors, their homes are tidy, clean and neat, but not the the IKEA-way (and more often than not I'm very thankfull for that..). Ukraine is another way of life, we have to understand this, when we are looking for a partner there. One main reason why I look for a friend there is, that the women are NOT western women, but have a new set of ideas on how to make life for her new family/partner more bearable and joyfull. This is the whole idea, or have I missed out totaly on something basic here? Again, this dating game is played on their half of the field, and they have set the rules and standards. I do not know, if there are any US, EU or other international laws and regulations they have to conform to. I try to read the rule-book as they have written it, try to adapt to how it works in Ukraine, and this way find a possible friend in Ukraine. After two years I have not have much success, but I have met some very interesting, well educated, beautiful women, and I still have a few in the pipe line, provided by UAL/CC. There is nothing much wrong with these women, the shortcommings are to be found here with me. As far as I and my travel partner are concerned, we think this agency performs and delivers what is to be expected, and that they protect their women clients in the best way possible. All women we have dated, spare one, have been in the office waiting for us, when we arrived (we double dated = less preassure, more fun, more relaxad). We have the feeling we were their first dates ever. The girls we have met so far, all have been on the Top-100 list of CC (this list is not there any more). Brothers out there, I just get the feeling, that you focus too much on procedure and too little on love and finding a partner. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do!"
