I have been to Kiev to meet a woman and that went well but now she wants to meet me somewhere outside of Ukraine like Tunisia or Turkey.
Does anyone know any good places to go that is romantic but not that expensive? I was thinking Prague but she wants a more tropical location.
I know Jamaica is nice and she is able to get visa to go there but the plane ticket would be expensive for her. She is taking private English lessons so she will be able to come without interpreter. I want to spend around 6-7 thousand for everything for around 7-12 days.
Any info would be helpful.
jnp007 - I was amazed to actually find a "tropical location" within Ukraine itself - Yalta has palm trees - that's something I was umaware of until I got there. And evidently even in midwinter it doesn't freeze.
As far as an answer to your question though - can't really help.
Turkey with direct flights from/to most Ukrainian regional airports, there's such places as Dominican Republic, I guess if you're American then Cuba is out of the question, Prague would be a pain in the ass for visa's as would anywhere within the European Union, but I think there's a number of not too difficult places in the Caribbean for her to get a visa.
BUT, if she wants a 'Tropical' holiday are you sure that she is serious and not just 'taking the p1ss'?
Egypt or Tunisia would be the closest and cheapest... apart from Turkey but it will be getting cold there soon. Good thing the interpreter doesn't need to go! Forget Prague as Martin says.
I suggest Egypt. Go to Sharm El Sheik. I went there for 2 weeks and we had a real nice room with an awesome beach view. Not too expensive at all. Get the resort package with meals included. Then you can pay extra for excursions during the day and it includes lunch or dinner. Many nice resorts to choose from and in the budget range you mentioned. You both will enjoy it, very romantic.
Just did a little Google search on Sharm El Sheik. Looks very nice.
Please tell us more about the agency that you used when you refer to "Get the resort package with meals included." I'd be very interested in checking this out further.
Jetmba try searching google for "Sharm El Sheik holidays" or something like that. Or go to
http://www.greatlatedeals.co.uk as an example. Getting a resort package is pretty much the norm for Sharm El Sheik, even flights can be included but thats not much help if shes flying in from the Ukraine. If you the chance get breakfast and lunch paid for and pay for your own dinner (then you go can out to resturants). But check the hotel reviews as the hotel meals may not be that great or maybe very good.

Good ideas, all, ben - though a uk site might not e so helpful for me flying from the US. A will check it out.
Still would like to know from skiired though specifically what service he used. I've written these inquiries in the middle of the night (regarding any American time zone) - so I figure he might take a while to respond. I'll give him some time to GET UP ;)
well even if you were I'd suggest you fly to the Ukraine first and travel together. You would get the deals from the UK because lots of people their take a weeks holiday there and return. I doubt theres such a demand from the states to holiday only in Sharm El Sheik.
If you go to a site such as lastminute.com you can scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the US flag, or any of the other flags, to bring up a local site.
Sorry Jet, I bowed out of this place a few months ago. I may look in every now and then thats why its taken me a while to respond. Ben is correct, theres no demand from the states to vacation over there. We all know us Americans live in a bubble and wont travel if we dont feel safe, lol. If I fit into that frame of thinking I would have never stepped foot out of the country. Anyway, we planned the trip with a travel agency in St Pete and flew there and back with a chartered jet. Flew Rossiya airlines with a Russian tourist group. I had a multiple entry visa. If your lady was Russian I would give you the name of the travel agency but I believe yours is Ukrainian. Yeah that place was really nice. We went scuba diving (the water was so clear you could see 50 ft down as clear as a bell), went on safari, travelled to see Valley of the Kings then relaxed on the beach for the rest of the time. Kind of windy on the beach though. But I do recommend it if you can go. You and your lady will love it. Lots of British, German, Italian, Russian and Ukrainian tourists. Seemed like I was the only American but it didn't matter. I check back again soon in case you want to know anything else. Cya
Know that if a girl orders everything in Ukraine, your travel to Egypt to 5 star hotel and all included will be 2400 $ but not counting your tickets to Ukraine
Truth, i think the price u named is a bit too high:) some of my friends went to egypt a few weeks ago, stayed in a 5star hotel all inclusive and paid $700 (but their tours were "hot" -sold at a reduced price). i dont think the intial price was more than $1200. at the beginning of september, high season in turkey, i was offered a 5 star hotel all inclusive (even strong spirits) for $1100-1200 ( 9 nights i believe).
what else i know for sure, Zikonh, is that Istanbul is more expensive that the seaside- i spent 700-800 USD for 4 days (i stayed in a cheap hotel ($50 per night)with breakfast included, and ate the 2nd time in the evening in MC Donalds:))))-the cheapest place to have food:)))
Does anyone know how much a woman from Ukraine would have to pay for plane tickets to Tunisia or Jamaica? I cannot find any
information in English on how much this would be. And also I was thinking of flying to Ukraine and then going to Tunisia
but I have no idea how I would buy tickets for something like that months ahead of time.
