meet this girl online, been exchanging emails, pic, having cam to cam meetings for 2months. seems honest, don't they all, lol! never aked for money till today. she tells me she's very sick needs a doctor/medication. when we had our last cam to cam she honestly did not look good. she is missing work because of this illness, cannot afford the treatment. she has never asked me for a penny till today. she claims she has to go for treatment soon and it is very serious illness, angina. i want to believe her but with many scrams from her country i have my doubts. i do not want to loose her if she is telling me the truth. your comments plz!
Claiming to need money for medical treatment is one of the oldest internet scamms going. Never sent money to someone you havn't met in person unless your prepared to never see a) the money or b) them, ever again.
You are being played by an employee of an organised group. You should understand this is very big and highly organised business in Eastern Europe. The lone wolf, individual scammers are the minority. IMO this is definitely a scam in the making.
On another side, why would you chase someone with health issues. You are buying a millstone for your neck not to mention the fact she needs to pass a medical to receive a visa for most countries and angina will show very quickly. Either way, I don't think you are ever going anywhere with this one.
You will see many more of the same or similar before you are done with your search. Move on and chalk it up to ducking a bullet.
2 months I would guess is a scam. How did you meet her. What treatment does she need: nitro pills, beta blockers, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, or bypass surgery. Angina is more of a symptom than a disease. Diagnosis as to what is causing it would be necessary before treatment.
Google her name with scam behind it and see if you find anything. What city is she in? Maybe there is someone who can check her.
DUDE!!!! Wake up and smell the coffee! If you read any of the sites they ALL say that an Eastern European woman would be too proud to ask for money from a virtual stranger (by the way, that is what you are to her). Wish her well and be on your way.
No girl in her right mind is going to ask a complete stranger for medical bills. Thats about as embarrasing as it gets - unless she's scamming you then its "old school".
I want to thank everyone for your advice. I'am currently running a background check, have checked google with her name, found nothing. She lives in Krivoi Rog Ukraine with her parents so she says. I made the initial contact with her, have to admit I kept the fire burning. Shes was very shy and was somewhat relutant to say much at first. I find it very strange after I refused to send her the money she asked for, because of her illness, she then went to the bank for credit to pay the bill. I was under the impression that most scammers would not take no for an answer and break things off after repeated money requests. Will keep you posted. Would like any additional comments or advice you may have, tks...
The thing is, it could be a real illness, but there are many "healthy" girls in Ukraine. It's why its not good to focus in on just one girl if your in the preliminary correspondence stage. The chances of a one-on-one correspondence to meeting going well is absolutely horrible. But if luck is on your side, maybe you'll get lucky in more ways than one, but your the exception... not the rule.
No, the scammer will not break it off, they will try another angle. The next you will get is credit has been refused with another sob story and if that fails then credit will be issued and a few weeks later she'll be back at you because she can't make the repayments, then she'll come the "I'll be forced into prostitution" line and bla bla..........or a friend of her fathers will lend the money but he is demanding a contract for her to repay by providing anal sex 3 mornings a week whilst his wife watches or some other fanciful nonsense. Just move on.
Dunromin, very true she might try another angle, I'll have to wait and see. The strange thing is she's been so reluctant to tell me that much about herself. I had to pry it out of her at times. I was under the impression most scammers would lay it on thick and heavy. One more thing she has been out of work since Wed of last week. This is not like her to miss work for that long. The only other time she did is when she went on holiday the week before. It's possible she is telling the truth about her illness. I would eventually like to visit her but must be as positive as I can be. Also ran her name on google with scammer behind her last name. Absolutely nothing was found, must have spent hrs. checking scram lists! All comments welcome from you and all others, tks..... Will be giving you the results of my backgorund check on her very soon....
OK, last word from TOPGUN - actually not my words at all; word for word from one of the websites you visit (pay special attention to the "medical expenses" part):
Here are a few tips on avoiding dating fraud.
Beware if:
-The lady says she is in love with you before meeting you in person.
-The lady does not answer your questions or address specific points of your email(s).
-The lady hints at financial hardships or directly asks for money or gifts. She may tell you she has a sick relative and complain about medical expenses. One of the biggest scams is when the lady proposes that she meet you in the States but is short of money for her ticket and Visa. 99% of the time this is a scam. Only 1 in 100 women from the former USSR can get a tourist visa to the U.S.or western European countries.
The bottom line is NEVER send money to anyone you have not yet met in person. It is totally out of character for a normal Russian or Ukrainian woman to ask someone, other than a family member or a very close friend, for gifts or money.
topgun, tks for the feedback, I don't plan on sending any money if she asks again nor a ticket to the U.S. Just for my curiousity will play her to the end....
Ouch - Danny - you know how to hurt a poor, lovesick man! Actually, Mr. Lee, Danny is right, you won't be seeing her. And, by the way, you can't send her money to come to the U.S. even if you wanted to. It is virtually impossible for a Ukraine women to get to the U.S. without a fiance visa or a student visa. heading out...TOPGUN.
Danny that hurt! Topgun, many tks for the facts. Guys I did get the background report today. Everything she told me was true! She has no criminal record or activity. Maybe I did find a good one after all. Will not jump to any conclusion at this time, there's still much more work to be done. Please keep your thoughts and comments comming, Tks to all....
Hi, Danny!
Having read all the scam scenarios on various pages in the internet you probably see that asking for money to pay for medical care is one of the most common tricks. If you really think she's sincere and decide to trust her try to pay for the medication without transferring money to her. Maybe there's a pharmacy that accepts credit card payments and delivers the pills to the addressee in Ukraine - bookstores do so. I think you'll information on how it must be done in this forum.
If she doesn't accept such a proposal you at least know the score!
Ummmm....if she is an internet scammer would she have a criminal record in Ukraine? Seems unlikely. How's an American guy who sent $700 for plane tickets or medical expenses going to get her convicted of some crime. And what crime would that be, anyway?
VNVnation, very true about the crime thing. I also ran her name with the caption scammer behind it on Google, nothing was found. I must have spent hours checking all the known scammer sites. The backgound check proved only one thing she is telling me the truth on most things, on the medical thing I really don't know. I'am very skeptical knowing this is one of the most common scammers ploys!. I don't want to keep asking you guys for more comments, hope to hear more. I just like to be somewhat sure and leave no stone unturned! Tks....
danny3777, tks for the comeback. The background check told me that she is for real. Now I just found out that she was sick when whe went on holiday the week before last. She has a computer/cam, like I mentioned before she did look sick and not her regular self. I've been with her cam to cam for about 2 months so I would certainly notice the difference.
