Tringa, we didn't just elect the first black president, Bill Clinton claimed that mantel. What we did elect was the first Marxist for president.
Also what is mistaken is we are not a democracy. We are a constitutional republic, though people like Obama wants to sell the idea that we are a democracy.
Scary times ahead. Just look at his cabinet appointees, all from the Clinton administration, where's the change? Seems to me liberal business as usual but the dopey American electorate fell for another great liar.
wow!!! you see i every post political context!!!! my friend got merried with an american man!!! he is very nice and gentle!!!! I believe that most amerians are so!!!!
> 'We' don't merely have close ties to Afgansistan, 'we' are in there fighting also so why do they hate
> (only) Americans over Afganistan, why don't they voice a hatred of the British, and other
> nationalities that have been in there, also?
very good point! i suppose it's more that they hated bush and i'm sure they hated tony blair as much! (as did i) who knows...
oh... i'm actually writing this from kyiv! finally! :-)
Love the American hating. Has anyone that hates America actually LIVED here?
I was born in England. I'm a small business owner here in America and I have called America home for the past 10 years. I am now a US citizen. I kept my UK citizenship as well.
So what does that make me?
Hating a country because of a few examples of loud, obnoxious tourists is childish.
Hating a country because of its foreign policies that common people have ZERO control over is idiotic and moronic.
America is a great country and the people here have big hearts. So anyone that classifies a person because of the country they are from is not anyone I would want to talk to.
> I don't know of anybody who hates Bush jnr. but I do know a lot of people who think he's a clown :)
ah... yep, sure! my cats have a higher iq than him! lol!
> Love the American hating. Has anyone that hates America actually LIVED here?
i never said i hate americans... but not all that keen either... maybe i've just been unlucky with the guys i've had to work with over there! one of my best friends has lived there for the last 10 years or so and he loves it (san jose).
all i meant was that the people i have met over here (kyiv) see americans as maybe a bit ignorant and uncultured, but that's only *their* opinion, i just thought it would be interesting to post that information here!
and programmes like that 'mail order bride' don't help to reduce that opinion! lol! i'm sure they could have chosen some of the more normal guys from that trip to interview! sorry... wrong thread!
Pete,
In fairness that MOB programme, sorry 'program' :), was a British production but, thinking about it, I'd love to see an American production equivalent to compare the sort of guys that they would portray.
I guess one who loves their country refers to it as a shit hole?? Though you're not smart enough to do anything about it. Hell you're not smart enough to vote.
