I am new to the forum but not new with this online dating thing. I started already in 2001 with the search for the right one in the eastern countries. After experiencing several known scams, reading many stories about possible scams I was rather quickly successfull after a few months. I found a nice Russian lady and we got married in 2003. Badly it did not work out for both of us.
Since about three months on the search again, several bad stories on other sites I finally landed on fiance.com. Somehow it happened that I was falling in correspondence with girls mostly from two cities. Mariupol and Melitopol. Well, I do not know if such stories or questons are welcome here, but it would be nice to get any advises here.
I am in correspondence with a nice young lady from Melitopol. She bacame mother extremely young and pretend in her profile to be divorced. From the story she told, it came out that she has not been married but was living with a guy since she was a teenager. From this guy she has a daughter.
Well, we exchanged some nice letters and after short time she told me she would love to develop our communication
and it will be great if it leads to something really serious. In the same letter she agreed to talk on the phone but did not give her phone number. Based on my former experiences here the question in me came up, "does she really exist"? Is she serious if. Or is it a agency employee writing to me?
Is it a fake profile? To find this out, I opened a video request. What better can be a proof of everything? And a video of about one to three minutes. What effort does it make? I was waiting impatiently one week for an answer. Then I sent a letter and asked her about it. But I was totally wrong. "How do you come to such an idea......." I better save myself what she was writing but in short, she refused, but if, maybe, possibly.... if she will find time, and if not then not, she will do it.
I told her to leave it. Her answer as a sign or expression of interest was enough for me. Somehow that is over or has even never started I think. No chance to bring anything back of several reasons I can not mention here. But one of them is her history of the past. But still fighting with me, I am thinking to pull her head straight or try to save what can be saved and not to say good bye to the thought to become father maybe very quickly?
And what to do with the other contacts I have to Melitopol? What if she is a fake profile and the others as well? What if the agency employee is the sender of these and maybe the others letters as well? And one more strange thing from there, not any of these girls from Melitopol appear on my "visited my profile" page although they all say they read my profile.
Fragile it is when no history is invested. To each is the task to make themselves relevant without overstepping the line. I agree with you that a simple video request is a good way to know if a woman is truly at the other end. No offense should be taken by her and just a few words is sufficient to establish the reality of your acquaintence in responding to only you. Stay resolved!
Thanks for this advise. But I am already member on Elenas Models as well. Just not active anymore. This is why I signed finally up for fiance.com. Could also write stories about that. From lovely Valentina which called me her "man of her live" for about four weeks, up to the "model" Elena (yes, she really told so):) to the beautiful Victoria which is already listed on some scammer sites.
If all you seem to do is invite scammers to yourself, I'd take a step back and seriously evaluate your situation, your seriousness, your criteria, what you have to offer, and how you communicate.
Usually the issue lies more in the man's lap than the scammers. Scammers all flock to those that they think they can scam. If you are not wise enough to recognize a scammer or how to not attract them, then you yourself need more education, not a new website.
Ron66,
Don't use any of the pay-per-letters sites.
Use mamba.ru.
I once had a profile on this site ( mamba.ru), The letters you receive are COMPLETELY different to the filth, scam letter writing sites and you can tell, the letters are from the women themselves.
Elena models, is a site that has the same profiles as what Army Of Brides has, Dream Marriage, etc, etc. Forget it.
Stop allowing yourself to be scammed.
Don't pursue women any more then 12 to 12 years younger then you.
Another thought, Have you thought about trying to find an independent English speaking guide in the FSU city of your interests?..Someone who has nothing to do with the local agency filth?
I had one in Nikolaev. She was great. She knew all about the business of the shit agencies, that everyday, men waste their time and money on.
