Hey anyone use one of those electronic translators, like the one Ectaco makes? I'm thinking about getting one just in case my russian sucks. I can't find anything on the internet where people have reviewed it.
As a product it looks pretty handy.
I have a Lingo. It is the only one I am familiar with. When we get stuck on a word sometimes it is in the data base. It helps in most cases and aggravates in others. Still well worth the cost and having it with me.
I use the iTRAVL TL-6 It is a wonderful translator because it allows you to type in Russian or English and translate complete paragraphs. It is much more than a translator but you can see online all of its capabilities. It has helped me out many times when traveling alone when I need to order a drink or just interfacing with the locals in Russia and Ukraine. This model is not available now but an upgraded replacement is.
