Okay folks, roll up, roll up - The time has come for the GREAT EXPERIMENT!!
It seems that not only is this forum incapable of operating with any form of dignity. I also find it hilarious that our illustrious users are unaware of the irony of starting an unusually large amount of arguments (proceeding to swearing on just the second page), on a thread BEMOANING THE LEVEL OF BICKERING ON THE FORUM (seriously, just priceless!)
So, if people are so incapable of behaving gentlemanly, we might as well make a game of it :)
I suggest an experiment. I'm going to start a thread about something perfectly innocent and on topic, and everyone can make their predictions of the following:
A: How many posts before it goes off topic
B: How many posts before it becomes about RB VS Martin
C: How many posts before it becomes about Danny VS Martin
D: How many posts before it becomes about Danny VS MC
E: How many posts before it becomes about Nasfan VS Anyone at all
F: How many posts before the word "Liar" is used
G: How many posts before the first childish personal insult
H: How many posts before someone swears
I: How many posts before a moderator steps in (okay, don't laugh - it could happen! I think I saw a unicorn the other day!!)
Quick reminder, this is NOT the experiment thread - I'll start that in a few days. This one's for placing your predictions, so feel free to have at each other with the bickering, free in the knowledge that it won't void the bets :)
I wish they'd keep their personal disagreements and ill feeling towards each other to their own personal email and keep it well away from a public forum.
go fuck yourself you liar. I was wondering about the merits of an Audi A6. I was told the maintenance can be a bear. And that the A4 turbos drink more oil than I drink beer - impossible!
oh! this is the prediction page...
Muzzy you are a silly snot. You know that someone will post a bunch of crap well before that happens.
Of course they will, it's just so predictable, isn't it? As I always say, never get into an argument with an idiot - they just drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
Doesn't mean we can't point and laugh at the wildlife though :)
speaking of wildlife--- my wife and I are leaving in a few days for Yellowstone National Park. 6 days in Grand Tetons Nat'l Park and 12 days in Yellowstone. New wetsuits arrived today - for whitewater rafting on the Snake and kayaking. I can't drag her out of the water! I also can't drag her out of bed before ten AM - a reference to something long ago. Yep, she is definitely Russian. :) And she caught fish on her own kayaking last week camping in the Poconos. The price of marriage has gone up! Went low end on a Canon Eos1 with telephoto lens. Now we have zoom digital movie, the point and shoot and a pretty cool serious camera. Two tripods etc. I recon about 3000 photos/videos. We tested her new fly rod rod last week. Caught a few decent big mouths - on a five wt! Never fished for bass with a fly rod -- very cool! And some decent pickerel. Floating a grasshopper and also woolly buggers. Now she will experience world class trout fishing on some of the best waters in the world.
There are already conflicts. I want to fish. She wants to take photos of all of the sights. Will be hiking up to 10,000 feet, kayaking in 50 degree water and watching the stars at night. Last week a 70 year old man was killed by a grizzly just outside the park. Hopefully I can run faster than she.
Garden is blooming and we're remodeling the master suite. Not enough time to do everything.
She also wants to hunt! I can't imagine this petite lady drawing a bow with "KILL, KILL, KILL" in her mind. But it is survival. Meat, fish and fresh veggies from the garden.
A: 1 (Hindsight is a wonderful thing :)
B: TBA but I doubt it will be many
C: 1 (Hindsight is a wonderful thing :)
D: More than 7
E: More than 7
F: 3 (And I'm spot on with that one :)
G: 1 (Hindsight is a wonderful thing :)
H: 3 (Again)
I: 99+
Hi Nasfan, good to have a blast from the past. How you doing these days?
To be honest, I gave up on the idea of dignity on this forum a long time ago, as it seems many others have. For any real advice or conversation, I (and I assume many others) use PM. Anything public will inevitably descend into a shouting match.
If you can't beat them, laugh about it! (well, that's my point of view, anyway) There's no intention to "get at" anyone specific, just a general sense of wonder at this combination of people we have here who can't (or wont) get along
Oh I am, I am - I'm offering the solution of giving up on fixing it, and laughing at the situation instead. Surely a viable solution in itself. After all, they do say laughter is the best medicine!
Of course, they also say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, neglecting to counter that throwing a knife at him will stop him coming back at all!
One of these days, I'll discover who "they" are! They're coming to get us, you know!
Yeah I guess you're right, we don't have solutions, we don't even have moderators, we only have problems. :)
'They' have been coming to get me for a long time, twice 'they' have posted wrong home address(s) of me on this forum, even PM'ing these addresses to other members, I think that might be called "drumming up support", by now you'd think there would be a picket line outside my door but ..... absolutely nothing.
I guess this might be the same 'they' that accused another of murder!
Take it as a compliment - one man's "stalking" is another's "admiring with commitment"
Nas,
Well, good and bad. The girl in question is long gone actually. When her mother realised that her daughter had actually met someone, and now had a realistic chance of leaving her (taking her grandchildren), she put her foot down, and that was pretty much the end of it. We tried for a few months, I even went back to see her six weeks later, but it all fell down. On the other hand, I visited a church there that's similar to mine, and now I have about 20 new friends on VK. I'm going back out in July, and they all want me to go to some festival with them in Simferopol. It'll be my third time in Mariupol - it's starting to feel like a second home :-)
Mariupol is a unique place, not unlike an Allentown PA since it's a steel town. I also like Simferopol and Yalta my wife and I vacation there when we go back. She's heading back at the end of August and I will go for a weeks visit in early September. Yalta in September is awesome.
Olga or is it smart ass martin should have barred all there posts,
SIMPLE
they have killed this forum stone DEAD!
just look at all there crap!
just do one the three of you!
No wonder the girls like to scam men!
If they were like the 3 of you then you deserve all you have got!
And i would help them, wankers,
RB, I've actually stated my purpose several times (in almost every post of mine in this thread), but I'm guessing you have a different opinion as to my intentions. If so, I'd be happy to hear it.
