I had a very beautiful girl write to me from Moldava. I was planning on going to ukraine and I know its close but does anyone know anything or have you been, whats the go?
Hello, it would not be a problem. I know that from Kiev, Odessa you can go to Moldova by plane (1-2 hours), or by train and by bus (5-7 hours). It is very close, and then if it is so important how far it is when you are going to meet a very beautiful girl :)
I wish you good luck and safe trip!
It is probably best to travel from Odessa to Moldova by plane. If you go by bus you will have to travel through a region with an internationally unrecognized government - the area is called Transdniestr. Moldova had a civil war in 1992 killing some 500 people. The Transdniestr area wanted to remain loyal to Russia while Moldova was leaning toward reunification at the time with Romania. Transdniestr has its own government today, issues its own currency and has the presense of Russian troops. The "rebel goverment" has its own laws and border controls.
The US State Department advised Americans to avoid the area since we have no official diplomatic relations with the government in charge.
I understand that many Americans have passed through completely unscathed - but my Moldovan women have advised me not to. They suggested that I get either a Ukrainian visa and they would meet me (individually) in Odessa, get a Moldovan visa and meet in Kishinev, of fly between the two cities.
DONT use trains there, unless you are fed up with living !!!
They are not safe places for a foreigner to travel, stick to planes and known cabs as unaccompanied on buses is Not a good idea either, more people get mugged or killed on buses and trains than in any other place in the FSU !!!
Good point Tim.
With all the great things about FSU and the women a who are there, sometimes we need reminding that its not always peachy everywhere.
There is still active fighting in Chechnia. One of our writers has posted a warning concerning parts of even Ukraine. Uzbekistan is the news currently (Though not in Eastern Europe it is a part of the former Soviet Union and there are active dating sites there.)
This is not a trip to Disney Land.
The FSU is a great opportunity for men like us looking for Russian brides - but it can't be forgotten that extreme caution is advised in many circumstances.
To Idiotdetector: You mentioned that a very beautiful girl from Moldova wrote to you. Just curious. Was her first name Olga (or a variation of that) and was she from fiance.com? (And is she blonde?)
No problem Tim. Hope all turns out well there (in Uzbekistan).
In another thread you mentioned something about sky diving ("Why jump out of a perfectly servicable plane.")
Its funny that you mention that because I actually did skydive, once, just before I began learning to fly. When I mentioned it to friends and they would ask why I chose to just become a pilot as opposed to continuing with the skydiving I answered that the change was for financial reasons. "I just can't afford to lose all those planes."
Alyona. redhead but she has not repied to my last letter as of yet, thanks for all the advivce people. I think I will go to Ukraine and if I can go that far I'm sure if shes fair dinkum about it she can do a little travel.
Jet: is it you that has several ladies from Moldova? Or was it crash, I forget now, because i just got letters from two lovelies in Moldova, and I dont want to step on any toes! There names are Julia and Elena. And they are LOVELIES!!
I personally feel that the most beautiful women in the world are Moldovan. They have a very slight edge, in my opinion, over Ukrainians. And Ukrainians have a very small slight edge over Russians. Again, its just my opinion, but these three groups (Moldovans, Ukrainians and Russians) have a HUGE edge over women from anywhere else.
They are incredible.
And I appreciate your concern, but neither of my Molodovans are named Julia or Elena.
Its entirely possible that those are two women I have written to - as part of my last resort back-up plan described several places in this forum - but if they are, chances are and they are through fiance.com - then the chances are that they either did not respond to me at all, or that they sent me a negative reply. I have been getting that from nearly ALL of the Moldovans I have contacted through this agency.
I have an update for you too, havnt heard from Miss "Ive found my soulmate" since I wrote her 4 days ago that I was going to her city in 3 weeks, and Natalia hasnt replied yet either !!! Now there is NO way on this planet Im going to believe these two are not frauds !!! Considering Mis "I H M M S" wrote to me first and replied realy fats to my letter back, and so did Natalia, yes suddenly after a mail or two and my news they have gone very very quiet :o)))
I am planning a trip to Moldova in July via Los Angeles. Most flight plans have me on a small plan into Chisinau via Vianna or Paris. Is that a problem? Why go to Odessa first? Maybe you just want to go there, in which case, that makes sense.
Also, I have seen so many prices for the ticket, $950 to $2200. Just seems strange, but this will be my first time to Europe, so what the hell do I know. :)
