dm, idiotdetector thanks for the encouragement - good advise to. A back up plan sounds wise. Have had some decent correspondance with some other Chisinauians - from an agency there.
Whoever woulda' thunk I might lose my virginity in Moldova!
Any other advise from anyone else? I'm in a learning mode.
so how many countries have you lost it in now? lol
I need some advice on a Russian VISA. The problem with the forum is that threads are scattered everywhere that finding what you want can be difficult at times.
Personally I dont do back up plans :o))
If it all goes wrong I will do what I have done my whole life, and wing it :o))
There is a lot to be said for making life up as it goes along :o))) Lots of suprises, and they are never always bad ones :o))
Hmmmm how many countries have I lost mine in ???
Last count, 9 different countries :o))
email me Del` and ask me what you need to know, you know I dont charge much for help ;o))
You wanna car, thats a different story, but help is cheap :o))
Mate, Ive had a really great day, I got my visa issued no problem at all (always a great feeling when they dont try to muck you about any !!) when I got home my flight tickets had been delivered, recorded delivery, by my postie Mick, and coz I wasnt home the old darlin signed for them for me to make sure I wouldnt be stuck without them :o))
I must get hima bottle of scotch before I move from here, he has been a jem :o))
And to round off a really excellent day, I had coffee with the current Miss Romania at lunch time !!!
No Im Not joking, she was at the embassy with a guy from one of the pagent organisers offices in the UK, and while we were waiting for our visa`s, his and mine we went off to Starbucks for a brew :o))
They are flying to Moscow on Tuesday next week for the Miss Russia leg of the heats and on to Omsk, where Im going, for the Friday heat to find Miss Siberia !!!
So its been a good, interesting and fun filled day all round :o))
Miss Romania by the way, is about 6 feet tall, very slim, and by Russian standards, not the prettiest girl I have ever seen, so obviously the judges dont choose on look alone. Dont get me wrong, she was very pretty, but not the bimbo barbie types we westerners seem to have as representatives at MW !!!
As for buck up plain, mostly I say just know wher to go if things go bad, winging it is O.K. TimH but it is not for everyone. These places can be difficult without language so a little help is always handy, at least know where to find help I say.
I agree wholly ID, I did say that this way is my way, I do know quite a lot of Russian, and I know how things work there also, so I can get by without too much difficulty, but of course, anyone going there for the first time would not want or be capable of winging it as I do !!!
Ive alwasy been like that though, I dont lack confidence to deal with things and with new cultures and people, and Russian culture is something I am very familiar with, so for me its like you going to Mexico on holiday, or Trad or Del` flying off to Spain or Cyprus, you all wont have problems in these places any more than I will have in Russia :o))
