Yes they are engaged and next month he is going over to meet her . He will have met her before the paper work goes in. The point was some guys meet a woman, any woman, write 10 times and they are engaged. Life doesn't work that way. By comparison i had written and recieve over 400 letters before i met my now wife, but we still weren't engaged. We made 4 more trips towner before I even asked her.
"Sex activates brain circuits that make us feel attachment to our partner."
"Any stimulation of the genitals drives up the dopamine system and that can push you over the threshold into falling in love," Fisher said. "And then with orgasm there's a real flood of oxytocin giving you feelings of deep attachment."
We are talking about FSU countries here. No such thing as arranged marriages although short courtships are possible leading to marriage after the process is complete. If you actually think your K1 will get processed in only 6 months then you would probably be interested in prime real estate next to Chornobyl also. According to official statistics(US), the actual process is currently from a very short 9 months to 2 years with an average time of 12-14 months and that is if you and your paperwork is flawless.
Russian background checks would be an interesting discussion. I am in contact with some Russian women now. What if you marry a spy, who would not do anything until she is well established as part of the American culture?
There was this 60 Minutes piece about a month ago. A Russian man left his wife and son to come to the US as a spy. He married an American woman and had a daughter. When it was time for him to do his job, he decided to defect. He could not leave his American daughter. His son was well cared for and if he left his daughter, she would have had to live in poverty.
Russian subversives in Ukraine is still a huge problem as Russian agents were everywhere in all aspects of business, government, military and more.
Ridding ourselves of this plaque is still difficult nearly 2 years on...
Just checked on visajourney.com. wait times after package approval (a couple weeks) is 5 months. Mine took exactly 5 months to the day. Then you get your interview. (1to 2 week wait) 1 week later you get your visa. 6 to 6.5 months total of you do everything right the first time and her background check has no red flags.
Any longer and you screwed something up or there was a red flag.
Interestingly enough, after I sent in my package I was buying a shot gun for my son. They did a back ground check with homeland security and I was denied the ability to purchase the gun. It took an additional 4 days before the shop could get approval for me to buy it just because I was "in their system"
I came close to marrying a few years back, but things just didn't go my way. Fortunately I married an American woman so the need to find love abroad ended, but I have to admit my intrigue for eastern European women remains.
