yes, LR, I speak Russian and my Ukrainian is limited. Sorry Tom, I only know the basics when it comes to Ukrainian. I can only get by.
Sentence structure and grammar are the same but different letters throw me off and Russian and Ukrainian have different words for many things.

If you have been watching American news you will see that Obama now gives them up to 18,000 in tax refunds even though they havent paid any taxes. Obama gives them all amnesty and benefits. Homeland security bill fight was all about removing the 80 billion they will otherwise get from the federal government through all of Obamas "executive" edicts
Yeah I know! It was sometime after Maiden erupted, that you wrote about needing to learn Ukrainian.
In 4re’s “Update” thread, I wrote the 3rd post and asked which language we should learn now,,,,, Ukr or Ru?? Everyone said Ru.
It really depends on where in Ukr you are going,,, and if you plan to live there. The person that is doing the moving,, is the one that MUST learn a new language. That person will need the ability to move around somewhat on their own,,, can’t always hold hands.
About the Mexicans,,,,,, the older generation were hard workers,,,, not so much with the younger.
I finally made it to Fl. this winter after several years absence ,,,, and witnessed a big change in demographics. I was the minority,,, and I saw who was working and who were driving around.
How the hell can anyone get a tax refund without ever having paid taxes first??? And what about sending their children over the wall,,,, it’s not to find a job.
If they allow amnesty to all of those illegals,,,, then the American people need to remove all of the model cement glue from the shelves at least 30 days before the next election,,,,, to make it more fair!!!
I have relatives who receive SSI and never worked a day in this country. Note that the Miami area is the ground zero for tax refund filing fraud in this nation.
@Rick, unlike you, I am back in God's country, Merika!! And in here, there is plenty of illegal aliens from everywhere (including Europeans)...and we all manage get alone no matter how different we are (that's the beauty of living the american dream); however, there is always short minded people that thinks that they are superior from the people of other ethnic background, and that when the $#!t goes crazy...hummm!!! like the shenanigans happening in your country.
Just wondering...What have the Mexicans done to you? did they drank you vodka while they were cutting the your grass?
K-dag,,, those birthing schemes probably only make up a small percent of the fraud, and that can’t be considered a tax refund. They get the royal treatment from all of our government agencies, while vets die on waiting lists. It’s wrong on so many levels!!
Maybe all of us should consider taking our fiancée’s to Mexico, and walk across the border,,,, and then ask for amnesty??? What kind of treatment do you think we would get??
If you are thinking of going south of the border to Venezuela, it is hard to get toilet paper now, so pooping will require you to rinse your behind or use your hand!
@LR Fraud is fraud. This people use our Hospitals for popping babies and going back home without paying for it, hoping to send their ABC or ABR back to America to collect benefits. …be future spies...reclaim their parents to so they can collect SS $$$....
to hell with amnesty ...deport all of them....end automatic US citizen to those illegal/fraudulent bastards been born here....built a wall along the US/MX border...fine employers hiring undocumented people....put a bounty on every head that overstay and sue their government to recoup the Taxpayer’s $$$$...have every visitor set up a minimum of $5k Certificate of Deposit (a bond) to be return once they had left.....have every visitor insured and bonded...
Had anyone on Capitol Hill had the balls to push this envelope?
The charge for my hotel room dbl occupancy inc breakfast came in at $17.22 on my bank statement. Still pretty good. A suite like this from where I am from would not be less than $149 in any major city.
Oh yeah, a 4 pack of Tuborg costs 28 UAH. That's about a quarter a pop.
kaiserdag you make no sense. One year ago 1US$ = 9.99UAH
so 4.50UAH is roughly half of that or 50 cents US one year ago.
Today the price of a bottle of Chernihivkse, I think last I saw it's 10 UAH but it can go on sale for 5 or 7 UAH. So if you do the math it's roughly the same price or cheaper (in US) because of the currency fall.

beemer18, I am still staying at this hotel and would not be comfortable giving it out.
But I'll just give you an example. If you go on Booking.com, search for hotel rooms in Odessa. Ekaterina hotel, right in the centre, a jr. suite is $15 inc. breakfast and the rooms are of good quality. These are not shabby rooms. These are rooms you'd pay $100-$200 in the states.
But that's just one example. Use Booking.com and search any city and you can get these deals.

Very smart TomZ
Every one should practice common sense with private information online. Chances are you could be target by ISIS,KGB, scammers, or a disgruntled ex looking for pay back!
Agree.. is still cheaper for us but not Ukrainians.
I personally just booked a King Suite at Skoreli (Skopeli on Lanzheron beach) including breakfast for 4 weeks at $27 US night in Odessa. I've stayed there previously, it's 12 metres from the sea.
Even Frederic Koklen which is my favourite Odessa hotel has come down to under $50 due to the collapse.
Rick you are wrong about not getting welfare for illegals they do qualify for public assistance in a lot of states. In quite a few states they are not allowed to ask if they are illegal or anything about there immigration status. in border towns there are pamphlets telling them what and how to qualify for social services.
bowhunter, I agree completely they get all kinds of benefits. even in states that say they prevent benefits for illegals the way around that is through the anchor babies
Just heard from the family in Ukraine I've known for the longest time. They're lucky to have some dollar-denominated income, which translates into more UAH in their bank account.
On the other side, they can't get dollars from the bank, so when they need to pay for something in USD, they must buy dollars at the black-market rate of 45 UAH per dollar (this is in Kyiv), and the bank credits their dollar income at something like 22 UAH per dollar (official rate), so there is an immediate loss of 50%.
Another family I know much less well bought a house in Kyiv (about USD 150,000) just before the worldwide crisis, at the top of the real estate market :(
Their mortgage is in USD, so their monthly payment is at least four times (in UAH) what it was when they bought the house. How they can keep their house, I've no idea.
