o.k i hope this is true but i just called american airlines about my tickets and they said i do not need any visas since i won't be there for more than 24 hours. has anyone ever heard of this. joe
if you dont change airports in Moscow you should not need a visa as you wont pass through imigrations but your airline should be able to tell you what you need to know, every one how have come here via Moscow have never mentioned to me about a transit visa for Russia, but I beleve there are 4 airports there ? so chech on your airline tickets
yeah that is what i did and they said no i don't need one.thank god because this trip is becoming kinda expensive.oh well it will be a lifetime expierence.
Now here is the info for an American, travelling via UK and Russia to Ukraine, this is the same information that the airlines and travel agents use:

Now the bottom line is, are you arriving and departing Moscow at the same airport and indeed the same terminal? If you are routing thru SVO airport to/from different terminals I understand that's top get from one to the other is something like a 30 minute excursion however I've never been there myself though.
Now FSU domestic flights, I mean Moscow to Ukraine, can be notoriously unrelaiable particularly at this time of year, lots of snow and fog etc, the sort of stuff that closes airports or grounds aircraft. Now should you onward connecting flight be delayed, cancelled or whatever, and without a transit visa, you're going to be confined to international area of the terminal and I could think of better places to be!
matin, this hole thing is confusing.sorry i'm poloish.i've never stepped foot on a plane so i'm lost.i sent you a e-mail with my flight plan so if you could look at it and tell me what youthink i should do thanks joe
In London/LHR you need to transfer between terminals 3 and 2, no problem whatsoever, they are right next door to each other and you do not need a UK visa.
If you look at your London to Moscow segment is states that you arrive Moscow/SVO terminal 2.
If you then look at your Moscow/SVO to Simferopol/SIP segment it states that you depart Moscow/SVO terminal 1.
Now if I copy and paste (below) from the link I posted previously you will be entering Russian territory, in both directions, thus you will need a double entry visa or transit visa.
Please tell American Airlines that they are talking from the ass and tell them to check if a passenger, who needs to transit between Moscow/SVO terminals 1 and 2, needs a transit visa, they're not the ones that will get fined, you're travelling that leg with Aeroflot and I bet Aeroflot wouldn't allow you to depart LHR without the visa!
