Do you know in what hand (left or right?) do the russian or ukrainian girls ware the rings before to fiancè and in what hand (left or right?) after their fiancè and than marriage? Wedding ring is worn on the right hand also. That's the general custom. Although some girls may prefer to wear an engagement right on their left hand. But this is seldom seen. Engagement rings is a western concept. Don't buy one! In Russia they wear their wedding band on their right hand and if it is on their left hand, it means they are either widowed or divorced. Most of the rings are just gold bands, I would assume. ItalyBlonde, would you believe that a Russian girl can't receive a ring from her Mom, who in turn, for instance, received the ring from her Mom. And not to mix things up, she will wear it on the left hand. Because right hand is only, I mean fourth finger, is only for the wedding ring. We have no tradition to wear certain ring in certain finger and we have no tradition of engagement. "Engagement" means nothing in Ukraine, just stupid games for adults. There is no traditional engagement ring.Also in the same my wife was previously married and she never had a wedding ring. That is more a western custom. Eating was probably the preferred thing to do, instead of buying gold to wear around their fingers. At least in Ukraine it's not customary to have an engagement ring. I used to wear this ring on right arm 4 finger to underline that I'm concentrated on work. Nothing to do with marrige. And if girl wears any rings no men cares about meaning, bcs it means nothing.
