I agree with BritGuy. We shouldn't stereotype a whole nation because of a few bad apples. I've been to Russia and Ukraine many times and I've discovered that there's good and bad parts to both countries. I've met some really cool and genuine people. There is that seedy side of each country as well. I've watched men get scammed by prostitutes for a couple hundred dollars worth of drinks and I've watched others enjoy being with a girl that has good intentions. I don't find anything wrong with prostitution. It's the oldest profession on the face of the earth. I think that they should just put it out there. It should go like this, "Hi, I'm Olga and I'm a girl for hire. You buy me a couple drinks, you pay me and we can screw for an hour". That scenario doesn't allow them to squeeze as much out of poor sap as possible though. What I'm trying to say is know where your going, know the history of the place you're going to, get to know the people (locals) and don't be flashy or arrogant and you'll be fine. If the girl you're going to see wants to meet for a cup of coffee and cake then she should be the one you pay attention to. If the girl want to go to Le Grand Cafe with you and two of her friends, you should run, run as fast as you can. You're in the process of being scammed for some really good lamb chops, wine and endless champagne. I've met many genuine ladies in both countries. I was able to do this because I made friends with the locals. They would introduce me to their friends and I would take them on dates and walks around the city. Plan on doing a lot of walking. Also, I can speak intermediate russian which made it a little easier to communicate with the locals and the women. I wish you guys the best of luck and be safe.
You shouldn’t create any kind of stereotypes concerning Ukrainian girls! You can’t imagine, how terrible it is to see, how a person’s attitude towards you changes as soon as you say that you come from Ukraine. I spent 1 year abroad in order to learn the language. I had no intention to get married, to steal money, to find a rich boyfriend or anything like that. I was just learning the language and trying to enjoy my life there. As every normal young girl, I wanted communication. I could get acquainted with men, talk to them (just talk! I didn’t ask to pay for a cocktail or anything like that), everything was perfect until the moment I said that I came from Ukraine. The next second I could see the reaction in the eyes and after that in the actions and words. Mostly they said “Emm… Sorry… emm… I want to smoke”. Of course they didn’t come back.
If a girl is from Ukraine, it doesn’t mean that she is a prostitute or that she wants to steal your money.
There I'd no way to answer the question as asked. 18 to 23? Probably 10%. 30 to 40? Probably 25%. 40 to 55? Probably 80%. Here are the facts. Less than 20% of women at dating services go out on a date. 7% of women on dating sites ever leave their country to be with a fiancee. Of a woman is 27 in the fsu, her odds of EVER getting married is 0.1%, or one in a thousand. If she has a child the odds are 0.01%. So go figure young women don't think much of their opportunities but as women get older they get religion FAST. One day I needed laundry soap but couldn't get any help. An older woman stopped me and held up one finger. She made a call and 3 minutes later a beautiful woman about 30 appeared. She spoke English so well that u could not tell she wasn't American. She taught English at the university. We walked a long way talking a lot but due to me and my target fixation (the hot 29 year old model that night) I didn't even think to ask her for a date. As it turns out I should have because the date later was a dud.
I understand how hard it can be for a Ukrainian girl to be accepted as 'genuine' and 'sincere'. I've been in Kiev a while now and it's where I met my fiance. When I told some western friends here I got engaged, it wasn't 'congratulations, i wish you two a great life together'...it was that and 'just be careful and make sure she's not scamming you'. It's like 'gee thanks', you know? So you get that from some western guys who've been here before and it's a shame they can't give Ukrainian girls the benefit of the doubt when they don't even know the person.
Even though I found my fiance on a popular Russian/Ukrainian dating site, the best way to meet girls here in Kiev is through friends, joining a social club or in a bar/club/restaurant/etc (and it should be easy to spot the prostitute, especially in winter). VK is a good place to meet friends, but, not really a girl to date. It's a social networking site so theyre not there for dating. And, if you become friends then the old saying could become true, 'once you enter the friend zone then you can't get out'. They'll only see you as a friend...just my experience anyway.
My first post here...good to join the forum :).

I see your point, but I don't think you can generalize. Perhaps most are not, but the trick is to get enough friends so you will end up with a few who are.
There are women there from time to time ask me to go visit their country. I think it means not really their country, but them. My retort always is if she is willing to show me around. The answer is always yes. Great. When I get there, let's do things friends do.
This week, a woman asked me if I was married and asked why not. I told her, and asked if she had a boyfriend. She said no with a smiley face that winked. Another, also this week asked me if I believed if love existed. She said she didn't. I think she was looking for an argument.
One more thing: Some have complained to me how vulgar foreigners are.
VK is a public place. The women want to look beautiful and glamourous. Some are not shy about posting nude pictures, even of themselves. Always, the pictures, nude or otherwise promote art and beauty.
Some have taken this as an excuse to be vulgar and obscene. They are very turned off by that.
This thread is very interesting... I'm very new to a Ukrainian dating site, and I'm a little skeptical because of some of the emails I'm receiving from the "Runway model looking" women. I'm a mid 40s guy from the USA, and I'm searching for a family oriented mid 30s woman from the Ukraine, so I thought I met one, the third email message was her telling me she's excited that we're getting married soon? Ok, so when did I ask?
So I tried another woman, who is about to steal my heart, we have great communication via email and chat. Yesterday I saw that she was online, decided to chat, and she was a cold fish? So my guard is back up. Not sure I want to go through with this, trying to figure that out through some research such as this forum if I'm barking up the right tree.
Sure there are a lot of scammers and gold diggers. If you are 50 years old just keep dreaming about 20 y.o. girls that will love you for rich inner world. In reality they could find more handsome and interesting partner, that's why they need just money or citizenship. I found my wife on https://katedating.com and she was my coeval with 9 years old daughter. That's why go back to reality.
I think one thing that is not shown on many dating site profiles is whether the lady is willing to relocate. Knowing that from the beginning will remove consideration of many profiles.
With setting up a profile and in communications with someone, many sites advise not to "sell yourself short" or tell about your "negatives". In my opinion, this is NOT the way to go. If there is something of a "deal breaker" which is not revealed until after months (or years) of correspondence and/or communications, you have wasted that entire time getting to know the other person. It is better to know as much as you can at first contact and not on the 200th contact.
After a hard look back on my days of " seek and destroy" . I reckon that only way to know the difference between a genuine and a scammer/party girl is what type of game you are playing player?
When I got seriously on the game, that's when I saw my lady.
It is true that even taxi drivers want to screw you. Not only foreigners! All of my friends use ONLY the call service and the taxis already waiting ONLY if there is no other choice (and then negotiate hard!) The taxi system in Ukraine is pretty good though. You call the service, give collection and destination and get sms with make, model and reg of a car together with the amount! You just need to get the number. The agencies providing serviced accommodation are aplenty. But don’t expect cheap prices. For example. My friend could find me an apartment which wasn’t in the centre, but not far from metro (subway) for equivalent of about $25 a day, agencies in just a little bit better location wanted $55. Yes, the standard was better, but then you pay twice as much. Also, if you do speak some Russian, there are lots of women in front of main railway stations who have apartments for rent (in Russia/Ukraine even more popular than staying in a hotel)
Hi Guys,
I am from Hungary, and had the same experiences with these sites. Anastasiadate.com and ukraina-women.com are fully scammer sites.
2 years ago at anastasia and now at uukraina-women I had the same experiences:
Within 2 days over 100 very pretty, young, genuin and brilliant girls wrote me love letters (initially)! I’m over 55 y.o.! Even if she indicated on her profile up to 45 she is looking for….but mostly they were interested in men up to 70-76 y.o.! Alone that must make us suspicious! After 1.letter you are charged to read (!) and write letters to anybody of them! (At Anastasia I spent some $s writing letters, but not over 20 $s. It had no sense) If you try to tell them e.g.yr email, you will be banned/suspended. And at Ukraina-women I ‘ve learned you have to get min. 15 letters (and to be charged for) from a girl to get private email or tel.nr of her! So at that point I deleted my profile, thus came out from this only losing time.
I advice you, never registrate on these sites.
Don't use pay per letter or pay by the minute sites. Use only sites that offer you unlimited communication for a fixed price or lady's direct contact details (email, phone, skype ,etc)
