So Trad, well concrats man, tell me about the visa situation there in Moldova why is she in Italy and why are you wedding her there. Can the children get out easy. Paper work and what did you have to prepare.
She has been staying in Italy with her brother( he lives there) for two months. She returns to Moldova in October, I cannot marry her in Italy as one of us would have to be resident, to marry in Moldova is a lot of paperwork and expense, I am going to Moldova early October and either marry her then or preferably get her a visitor visa for the uk. The British embassy in Moldova have been very helpful, they e mail me everyday. No problem for the child to leave with her. Think husband has to give consent, for her this is not a problem
Trad - how likely is it that the British embassy will give her a visitors visa?
I realize that by coming from diffrent countries (you and I) we have different embassies and (naturally) different law. But I have been led to believe that there are more similarities than dissimmilarities. Though the embassy staff (guards etc. - not consulate staff) seemed to indicate that it was fairly easy for a Moldovan girl to get a visitors visa - the decdion was generally made on the same day for applications in by 10:30 - a decsion was made by 4:00 or 4:30 - everything I have read seems to indicate otherwise.
My research suggests that while it is possible for an elderly woman or man to receive such fast service - it is virtually impossible for a young single girl to received approval. Moldova is a poor country and her liklihood of wanting to come back is small at best. According to the literature the ease of receiving an American Visitors Visa is coincided with past experience by similar citizens of that country, in the same sex and age group returning home. And for my girl, the odds are quite small.
She has to prove pretty much thatshe has to intention of marrying in the US - that she has relatives and a job waiting for her in Moldova that expect her to return. and of course if she does marry - the threat is that the original application can be deemed fraudulent.
I am following this story with great intrest. The girl I am writing to is in Moldova. Things are progressing nicely and I have been wonderig about the very thing you are discussing here. Just how difficult will it be to get things in motion if or when things get that far? Congrats and good luck.
Jet, the British embassy advised that any Moldovan can be granted a visitor visa, now I know that is a simplification. She has a track record, she has been in Italy for 3 months and is returning, I have 6 months correspondance records with her. I have proof of meeting her in Moldova, Romania, Italy and France. She is in the top 20%percentile earners in Moldova, so she probably has a good a standard of living in Moldova as in I do in England. I shall state in my sponsors letter, that I am inviting her to England, so that we can be sure we want to get married, I shall make it clear that if they turn her down, I will marry her in moldova the next day and then they will have no choice but to issue her with a visa. I am supply proof that I can support her for 6 months. I am optimistic, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating
It's much easier to get to Moldova Dale, no lengthy visa process, just fill it in at the airport. I will be back there october 6 for 2 weeks, obtaining a visa and getting married
It's not the water...
I too have a fire of passion for Moldova. I have been writing to a girl every week fro three years and visited twice. Yet she tells me that the best way to tie the not is to go there and pray for the best.
Does anyone know of a marriage Agency that will make our lives easier?
Mikeal - again I ask Where are you from? Which country?
Marriage agencies serve to introduce people to each other. Sure they are will ing to help arange visas for a hefty fee to those who don't know that they can do better with the help of a conpetant attorney.
Thsi doesn't seem to be getting through to you and something seems fishy about your letters.
Marriage in Moldova is quite straight forward and then you would apply for a spouse visa. however, why not just apply for a fiance visa , same proccess as a spouse visa
Trad:
Actaully in the US it is a different process. For example - according to the US Embassy in Moldova - a Fiance Visa is actually handled through Bucharest while a Visa to bring over a spouse is handled in Chisinau. Different processes enitrely.
Groon- maybe dale is writing to your girl too, or maybe mine!! There are not that many girls from moldova, well compared to thoer place. Someone has to be doule dating here
jetmba- I am from the USA. And I disagree with my girl double dating...but I'll keep it on the back burner. I remember about 1 year after we were writing that I saw her profile on a marriage site. I questioned her and she said that it was an old ad. SHe had it removed the very next day. She has been very loyal (not neccessarily faithful, but what do you exspect when you're 3000 miles away. The way I see it is, hey if she decides to leave me after a year, well at least I helped a girl out, and will have a good friend, as long as she seperates with some honesty.
