I started writing letters like it was suggested and things were going great if you like to write a ton of letters. I was writing 30 letters a week and getting twenty five good responses, I was over whelmed so I canceled all the young sexy girls out because of the self imposed stress I felt I would have to put up with. I tried to let the ones down easy that just seemed like they were ready to get married after three replies. To make a long story short I purged my list to just two women. I met (in letters) this really sweet attractive 29 year old mother in Moldova and things seem so great. I called her one Saturday had a bad connection and a language problem and she let me know that she was a little dismayed that I wanted to get off the phone. I could not hear a word she said it was like talking to the translator. It was very late and she was whining about being tired. We shared a couple of letters after that and things seemed ok but I have not heard from her in a week. Do I sound desperate because I might be, I really like this one. I sent her a couple of presents about two weeks ago and have not heard anything about that. I could be over reacting, I heard there was a long national holiday but not from her. Ok it is late I am tired and perhaps things will look different tomorrow. Why is nothing as frustrating as dealing with woman perhaps this is why I have been divorced for 20 years? The problem is that when I send a letter, it takes her about six days to go get it and then another six days for me to receive hers. I haven't asked her why the long delay, I can only guess it might be a problem getting there for her. At this rate, we'll be able to develop a good relationship in no less than 2 yrs. There is no problem with the language as she is an English teacher there and quite frankly her writing skills outshine mine. Frustrating? Yes but not ready to rock the boat yet. I've been divorced for 20 yrs. last week. Almost got married twice in that period but glad I waited as I know that I'd still be here if that would have happened. I am not trying to put you off but no commitment has, or even can be made untill you see her face to face. If you realy are serious, get on a plane and meet some girls. You can write to her all you want after that and it will be so much more real. After you go you will see how unnessercary all this frustration is. I am attending classes at the University. I really want to try and connect with a woman before I go there, I understand what you are saying and it is a valid point about just meeting but it is true that some guys write to woman and then meet and get married, I mean if this did not work why is everybody here at this site writing letters till the cows come home to find a bride. If I can connect with two women before I get there I have two more chances than pot luck showing up at some agency hoping I get lucky. I am confident I can bond with a woman through long distance communication and know that we are fairly compatible. I never worry about the looks like most do, I certainly can hold my own I have a better presence in person than a photo and I am not looking for a beauty queen so that takes a lot of pressure off the meeting right there. In college and divorced for 20 years???? Or are you a professor, just work there??? Can you track the gifts? Sometimes ladies work long weeks and have other things going on. My lady has to go to the city to write and read my letters because she needs them translated. So she does not get there as often as I wish. I find that sending flowers on fiance with a responce from her to be the best. I have always goten very cheerful responces. I have not talked on the phone with this lady but it was very difficult with the ladies I did call. It is not a true conversation and keeping up was very difficult waiting on the translation. It was very ex[pensive and I did not enjoy it like I thought. I also talked many times to one lady that could speak english and we have sense drifted apart. If you can not go until december you may be talking to a new set of ladies. You have plenty of time. Sometimes it may seem like a race to see who will get there first, for the lady that is. A good relationship will take time and effort on both parts. You can not do it all from here. I've seen a few ladies comment on how many men who talk to them drag that on with no intent to follow up (at least with how I heard it). Yes, commiting to a very expensive trip is hard to take on our side, but no matter how you want to rationalize it, you need to go there to see if you really care about this person AND let her know you are really serious about her. The hard part is that most of these ladies are only available on weekends unless they can arrange time away from their jobs. I have been watching the statistics for the one and it seems I am the only one writing. Perhaps being close to thirty with a child might be a reason I do not know. I am sure things can change but right now I am comfortable after the letter I received today. I guess I will wait on the mail a bit longer and see how that works out. Southernman I am a student again; I am a counselor at a residential treatment center for teenagers with addiction and mental health issues. I am also in the car biz as a broker! I need to upgrade my education constantly. Human development seems to always be developing. The real problems with these adolescents are the parents. Things have a way of working out. Book your trip, if things go bad even before you go, still go. You will meet some one I am sure. Write letters by all means, I do to.
