does anyone know if there is an acceptable time for visiting a ladt from russsia....
what i mean is i plan to FLY (arhhhhhhh) over there and finaly meet my young lady friend, if things go ok i may try the old fiance route and see i can bring her accross to the uk.
i was thinking of a couple of weeks over there...... will the visa people see this as long enough?
secondly will i need to take things over there with me...ie: printouts of email's we've sent, wage slips, letter from my building society or anything else?....
Chris:
can I ask the obvious question here?
Have you really considered that 2 weeks will be long enough to really get to know your lady?In your postion I would treat your journey as a holiday with prospects......nothing else until you have actually spent some real time with your girl.
It is sooooo different actually being with someone real time as opposed to writing letters or even chatting on the phone.
Besides even if you do fall head over heels in love there is still a lot you can do without all the paraphernalia of bills documents etc.
You will find that should things go according to plan that the British Embassy in Kiev is quite willing to accept faxed copies of required documents......or even as e-mail attachments if you choose that route.
Take things one step at a time chris.............and I am not being negative in saying that.....just go with an open mind and don't expect too much.
thanks for your response gladiator but i have a few thing to add...
1) as in my last post i have a phobia of flying and if i manage to fly it may be just the once.
2) i have just started my own business and do not have a lot of funds availible to go to russia more times and am needed here for my children...
it is'nt realy an issue of club her over the head and drag her here but i believe that things can work if you want them to.
i had an slovakian lady living with me as an aupair last year and the difference in culture was great we had a great time although it was'nt nothing but platonic.
clubbing her over the head is something I hadn't considered........hmmm,maybe I got it wrong.....:))),the flying phobia cna be exchanged for train travel......a lot slower of course but very interesting with the correct precautions taken.
As for the kids.....I can relate to that too......as I have 2 kids from my previous marriage and that DID take a lot of thought about leaving them to travel......but as you say things can work if you want them too.The funds need not be a big obsatcle either,as there are so many inexpensive ways to reach into Russia, careful plannig is the key here scoot.
glad, looking at flight prices from heathrow to tomsk £425, heathrow to novosibirsk( not sure of the exact distance between the two) £245 not direct.
never been abroad before dont know what im in for....
Scoot,
LOL...save the "great times" description for when you get well laid, lol.
Going to russia only once to meet your lady, her family and everyone else who wants to get a piece of the foreigner Olga is going to marry and move away with is simply not enough time to establish the strong fundamentals of an intimate and successful long term relationship.
Heck, if you can lick your fear of flying once...you can do it twice, thrice and as many ICE times as you need.
Just bring spare clean underwear in case of turbulence and/or rough landings...
cheers toad, thanks for the info, but my pants will skid like the plane...lol.
hopeing that once ive visited her, she might be able to get a visa to come see me.
Glad, I am going to Moldova for a fiance visa next month, we fulfil all the criteria but they are not very forthcoming on what documentation she needs to provide, I guess divorce certificate, permission from the father for the daughter to leave the country, 2 birth certificate, anything I have missed?
Take just in case some more pasport pictures. I olmoust got stok in The ambasada for this.I'm from Moldova.Got marriage two years agou.If you have any guestions about travel ,people, how to take care about money and other I'm ready to help.Sorry for mistakes I still learn to write in this language.
Trad:
just seen the question........sorry I missed it amongst the threads, from what you say about the documents your lady has that sounds about right, although any education documents can sometimes be helpful too.
I am assuming that you have all that you require...like proof of residence, and the ablility to support your lady, bank statements etc,any letters you have written to each other, phone bills etc etc.
I'm probably covering old ground here trad but it's always better to double check.
If it's any help feel free to e-mail me as I am fortunate enough to be living in Liverpool which is the only place apart from Croydon in the UK that has an IND office.
trad:
by education documents I mean if your lady has any diplomas etc that she earned from school/university etc....my wife has several she brought to the embassy with her,and they did comment on the fact that she studied english at school,so maybe it's another little push in the right direction.
yes glad she has a degree in economics and a degrees in ancient history, I'll get her to take those. thanks for the tip twinkle, and thank you veronnika, I will certainly e mail you
