OK,
Barring some unforseen eventuality that may prevent it, I'm heading to Tyumen (Siberia) in January.
I heard that January 7 is when Saint Nick does a second round of russian gift giving after he's done in the west.
Has anyone from the west ever been crazy enough to travel Siberia in January?
Well I think the best way would be to head to Alaska Toad since you are in California, because it is frozen over from Alaska to Moscow and you can walk straight across the straight and right into Siberia just watch out for them man eating Polar Bears. Take a big knife at least.
I'll bet there is a residency contingency there for Santa to stop by and see ya most likely 90 days or a job for thirty just guessing but I will do some research for you if you want?
Sorry, Wess...I'm not into ice-skating, ice-walking or ice-running-away-from-bears...
I'm barely into ice-cream.
So getting to Tuymen via Alaska is out of the question,lol...:)
I'll fly to Moscow, meet my seetheart, rush to buy a chinchilla overcoat, take photos and fax them to every US office of P.E.T.A.
Has anyone been to Tyumen in January...or any other time of the year?
Also buddy on a little bit of a political and funny note, get Ann Coulters new Book. How to talk to a Liberal(If you have too.) Now there's one American Lady I would marry in a second along with Laura
Ingraham, but they are few and far between!!!!!!
I've been intending to read some of Ann Coulter's works, and never got around to it. I'll try to work it in (got a lot of unread books on my night stand as is).
On the subject of PETA, I think the following paragraph from L. Neil Smith's speach called "The Atlanta Declaration" sums it up very well. You might not agree with the whole speech, but I recommend reading all of it anyway (http://www.lneilsmith.com/atlanta.html). Anyway, here it is:
Some of my readers, Easterners, recoil in horror whenever they discover that I'm a gory-handed murderer of gentle, limpid-eyed Bambi and Thumper. I believe they could learn important things about themselves, their species, and the nature of reality, the first time they found themselves standing over the half-dressed carcass of an animal their own size, with blood up to their armpits and the cloying scent of warm viscera in their nostrils. For me, it's crucial to recognize my natural identity as a killer-ape, not simply to accept it, but to rejoice in it. The alternatives are to spend your life trying, like the lion who choked on a head of cabbage in Mark Twain's Letters from the Earth, to deny nature or, out of a sense of cosmic embarrassment, to commit seppuku. Recognize it or not, accept it or not, rejoice in it or not, we are killer-apes.
Sorry for bringing a political discussion to this thread, by the way.
Geriatrix,
Your suggestions would make perfect sense if I was to meet a woman from or in Vladivostok and intended to visit St. Pete's or Moscow....but I said Tyumen, Siberia, lol!!
Tyumen is 3 hours from Moscow.
Moscow is 10-12 hours flight from Los Angeles.
Vladivostok is 14-18 hours from Los Angeles via Tokyo or Seoul.
Vladivostok is 3 days from Moscow via Transiberian Rail.
I strongly suggest you never seek a job as a travel agent, lol..
Nas,
I have good reason to believe that despite the extreme low temperatures outside, I will be kept warm and cozy during most of my stay in Siberia....;)
It's been discussed at length already.
Transiberian Rail.
would be the novel part, the scenic route!
No, I am not a travel agent. I have for years dreamt of the Transiberian Rail - it would be good to have somebody 'test drive' it and tell about it.
Yeah, Toad, why do you refuse to be Trix' Crah Test Dummy?
I mean, you really dislike the Donkey-work of such?
Or do you simply dislike trains my China?
I would too - Deutche Grundligkeit cannot be expected.
