Like I said in another string I started I was approached via Yahoo Personals by 2 girls, one of whom I really liked. However, it seems like the only way to do this is to get on a plane and hope for the best. To hear AFA talk you would think they are the industry leader. This forum says different. jetmba. (Found on the web at www.russiantours.com). The reason I went with European Connections? Frankly it was the cost - the tours seemed so similar as described by both compaies, but I was aware that european Connections provides each person with their own translator at each Social free of additional charge. And it still was hundreds of dollars less expensive. I will tell you - I hade the TIME OF MY LIFE with my Romance Tour to Odessa. I will aslo say it was worth every single penny and many more after that. Had it not been, my pursuit of Russian women might have ended then and there. While in Odessa, however my tour company had us staying at the Black Sea Hotel. It was a terrible place - based on western standards. The Hotel Odessa was a bright gleaming pillar of a new hotel that everyone talked about. And the Hotel Odessa was the one used by AFA on their tour. This year, a friend I met on my tour of Odessa last year with European Connections, booked a similar tour to Odessa with AFA. He just returned and wrote me about it. He raved about how great the Socials thrown by AFA were and how much better the Hotel Odessa was. It was clearly worth the extra money. Bottom line - going on an organized Romance Tour to start out is the perfect way to go. In fact sometimes the two compaies have tours only a week apart using the same hotel. It is a LOUSY hotel - surly staff, old Russian "twin" beds fixed permanently on the wall. I understand that if you ask you can get an upgrade to s suite for some additional money however. When I was on tour with European Connections, tour management was constantly apologizing about the hotel, saying that they knew it was below standard. We were told that a different hotel had actually been booked for the tour (Hotel Mozart?) but that at the last minute a political meeting was called the participants needed a place to stay and the previous reservation was cancelled. We were assured, however, the The Black Sea Hotel would never again be used by European Connections. Yet, there it is - featured in the current ad as the hotel to be used in Odessa. Pay the extra money to AFA and stay at the gleaming Hotel Odessa. You'll be glad you did. (And I have to bet the women will be impressed.) jetmba. There is a wonderful beautiful woman that I met recently - she is everything I have always dreamed of in a woman. I spent a week with her and now she is talking about the possibility of joining me here in America. Things seem to be going great and if she is willing I will have no need to go to Odessa or anywhere else on any Romance Tour. The only problem is that the situation seems sometimes too good to be true. Nothing can be this terrific in the real world. It just doesn't happen. Until I am with her again here in America - I will be hopeful but sceptical. If it all falls apart - I will probably book with AFA next summer in Odessa or Yalta. jmoluv Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 10/8/2004 3:21:33 PM   i went to a european connection social at the hotel rus in kyiv. no alchohol. i had my own personal interpretor. nice place and i had no complaints. the quality of the women and being outnumbered was overwelming to me. this organization i highly recommend . there is no disco or bar scene . women are by invitation only. i had the time of my life!!!!! this company has about 30 years experience. i am sure they will change their hotel in odessa. if you want to meet bar chicks and party then you should go with anastasia. afa and european connections are the best but you will save lot more money with european connections jmoluv jetmba. And regarding the relative value of the superior accomodations that AFA provides for the extra money - I can only speak personally about Odessa. It might be a fair generalization to say that if moeny is no object - go with AFA. If it is, (and you like the included persoanl translaor at Socials) go with European Connections. jmoluv Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 10/8/2004 9:09:52 PM   jetmba if you noticed all three companys tour schedules they pretty much all use the same hotels in virtually all cities that they visit and yes sometimes they are only one week apart. and another thing is you will find alot of the same women patronize all three companies. these companies will admit to that also. afa did to me it is no secret. i know you will agree with me on this subject and some wont but a social is the best way to get your feet wet with fsu women. it is a good crash course on meeting and learning on what they are like. nothing can compare to it. and a most common expression that several women that i met and dated said to me the amount of e-mails sent to each other does not compare to an actual meeting and a night on the town to get to know someone. actually quite a number of ladies at the social told me they are quite bored with the e-mail process. they feel that almost all of the e-mails they get they feel the man will never take the journey . so they feel they have a better chance at a social because the man is actually there and they feel if he made the journey then he is pretty serious. i am only sharing with the men on here what actual women from kyiv said to me. you can meet them and date them. then go home and continue the correspondence and go back again and again .no one says you have to marry on the first meeting. every one seems to imply that here. at least you know the person you met is real and bonafide. alot of e-mail only relationships i have been told went completely flat when they finally decided to meet because the initial physical attraction did not happen . it happened to me with a women i met at the airport who it was e-mail only before we met. i knew it and so did she as soon as we met. there was no attraction but she was attractive on the internet. you cant fool mother nature. to me a chemistry is a combination of all things , you feel it in each others presence . you can e-mail for a whole year to the same person and when you meet it can hit a dead end . then it may not. my two friends from kyiv i met at the social and it has really blossomed with these two because we have alrready shared something together . that is what makes it real between me and those two that i like. take it for what it is worth, jmoluv izifaddag Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 10/9/2004 8:42:16 AM   jmoluv & jet I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for your input. Obviously I want to get the best value for money and I really like the interpreter idea. However, when you are going to spend something like $3500 for a 2 week vacation you want a decent, clean, safe hotel to put your head down in. Not to mention any extra curricular activity. You don't want to take someone to a slum. I want the extra service too. Getting food sent to your room for example shouldn't be a biggie. These things should be a given. I checked European Connections and to be honest their prices were not that different from AFA. Personally I don't see enough savings to warrant cheaping on the hotel. So I think it will definitely be AFA they seem to have a very good reputation. I also like jmo's approach of actually being there to get things started. It seems to make sense to me. You go you meet a few women. Some you like some you don't, then start a correspondence. Maybe go back a gain to focus a special woman. Make decisions, discuss, discuss, discuss. Then maybe marry and deal with INS. I originally came from England (yes I have a stupid accent) 20 years ago. Started as an illegal immigrant then got married to a Cuban American and eventually became a citizen. Have been for 5.5 years. I have enough experience with several run ins with INS to write a book and I am not anxious to have another. However, having said that I am not afraid of them even if they do take me to that little room every time I enter the country. They will get used to me eventually, God bless them!! There is no getting around it American women leave not a little but a freaking TON to be desired, and believe me English women are WORSE!! So I will proceed. I love traveling, and collect countries I have visited like some collect postage stamps. It's fun. If at the end of the day I can have a new experience, in a new country, with the posibility of meeting a fantastic real woman who understands what the hell being a wife is all about I shal be ecstatic. We worked with this website nearly a half of a year as one of their agencies they work with. And I can tell you a lot of interesting things... First when we registered with them they even didn't ask our documents. They decided to check our girls only after two months of working with us. Actually all that time they received money from you, members, and didn't guarantee that you would get real girls for your money:-(. The only reason they checked our girls in two months after working with us whas that we had more then 1000$ on our account they didn't want to pay. It is so easy to refuse payment because the agency is not legaly registered and leave all that money for themself!!! We never got our payments in time. I don't tell you about that sometimes they sent us oders for delivered with delay:-(. By the way we still didn't get our money we earned in August with this company. They don't know how to treat their clients well and I will be not surprised if they will not have any in recent future. These folks here at Fiancee.com provide a one and only (as far as I can tell) service. There do not seem to be any other forums around dedicated to this subject. They don't charge and are willing for people to swap info about competitor agencies. That is what I call trustworthy. I bet there is more to this situation than we are being led to believe. Incidentally I think I am going to plunge with Elenas Models. They look knockout and I love the way you don't waste your time with women who are looking for someone younger. Also, from what I can gather, they vet the snot out of their women so there must be a minimal number of scammers. I just caught my 1st one thanks to their blacklist and my suspicious nature. jmoluv Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 10/10/2004 7:37:26 PM   izifaddag, there was a women on this site who was with the scamming agency from kyiv that was removed (KATRIN AGENCY) that was supposedly corresponding with me but it was a professional writer doing it for her. i also noticed that this same particular woman was also with ELENAS MODELS. elenas models i feel do a great job of putting a nice wrapper on their product . you know what i mean, good marketing with very good photography. but i wouldnt trust them. it is my gut feeling. this womens name was olena luneva with this site from kyiv, and she said she was a librarian and with elenas models her name was elena luneva and now she is an accountant. but very slender and beautiful, two completely different ages also. i was also told by katrin agency that she will look nothing at all like her picture on the web. katrin said that men who met her told her that. interesting, you would think that that agency would know what their client looks like!!! needless to say all four women from katrin agency that supposedly could not wait to meet me could not be found when i said i was flying to meet them. all of a sudden their e-mails changed and their plans to meet me dissolved because i called the scamming agencys bluff. (KATRIN AGENCY) MEN THIS IS THE COMPANY THAT IS TRYING TO BLACK BALL OUR SITE WITH THERE UNFOUNDED CLAIMS AND RHETORIC. they dont understand the fact that men do not appreciate being scammed. and i guess their removal put a bite in their revenues. the owner of this agency was the former miss wow ekaterina kermik in the spring time. this is the women i met and had lunch with and she is the one who posted these recent accusations. jmoluv izifaddag Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 10/10/2004 11:37:49 PM   Ok, I'm confused. I think what you are saying is that you spotted a scammer both on Fiancee.com and on Elenas Models. Then separately you are saying that Katrin Agency is bogus. Hope I got that right your post was a little garbled. I suspect that there are scammers on all these sites I don't think there is anyway to avoid it. Mine (about 5 or 6 of 'em in total but one in particular) all approached me on Yahoo Personals! Nothing to do with Russian women. Quite frankly the whole thing is a giant crap shoot. None of these agencies seem to be reliable and all the big guys like A Foreign Affair get accused of sweeping the streets to fill their socials. What is more with a decent percentage of hookers! No matter what you do you are screwed. Then we have the whole argument as to whether it is better to establish a relationship by email then go to visit, or go on a tour/private trip and trust to luck you click with someone on the ground.
