Jet, Thunder and all other single and multi identities, here you go.
As I was living in Vienna, I dated many girls from Romania, have been almost all around the country.
Romania is a beautiful country, but the beauty is covered with poverty and misorder. And there might be something different brhind the beauty of thr girls. Sure, I don't want to make a blanket comment. I met many proud people, but I am writing about the common case which a man from west would face.
In Romania, money rules, maybe more than anywhere else. And the western man will be seen as the potential sponsor. If you date a Romanina girl, and won't be asked for money within two days, keep dating her. The next step is to find out if she is really not married. Almost all of the women 20+ are married, and their husbands, fathers and brothers know what they do.
Dating in Romania, you will find yourself very quickly in discos. Your table will have most bottles in the place and most eyes directed on. You will be promoted heavily from your date, forget being really alone. If you dare to dance, you will see that other girls won't bother to go to your table and let you invite them for a drink. While you are dancing of course))) Simplest rules apply; don't get drunk and share your money between your pockets and socks.
Normally, you will be invited to stay in her home/flat. Don't be surprised if this is the flat of a poorer relative. Washing machine can go down while your shirt is in, anyone can get sick suddenly.
But still, I always had excellent time down there. If you know what is waiting for you, there are no disapointments. They are good and poor people, who want to ripp you off))) That's it.
Sure I don't have to mention corruption, thefts and robbery. But one will hardly be attacked if he is together with a resident.
Once, because of a Romanina woman, I broke the heart of an Ukrainian woman. Maybe this was the biggest failure of mine, maybe not, at least I am here now.
Things I wrote may sound too negative. But many of us know that the clocks tick different in eastern europe and FSU.
So, don't hesitate to go there, but be careful, as everywhere.
While I've never been to Romania I've been to Moldova which seems to be a crossroads between the two (literally). They speak Romanian but hey call it Moldovan. and though many of the girls are Russian - they share the genes commonly found in the Romanian population (gues that is why they are so beautiful).
What you wrote would seemto apply to Moldova as well. and I do really want to try going to Romania before I am done with all of this.
But, Zafer, all that actually sounds like fun. Add that they've got ski-resorts of sorts, and a wintersport-holiday should be in order I guess.
I only don't quite understand why one has to go down on a washing machine to obtain a clean shirt ;-))
you ski? Alpine I mean, not 'langlaufen' (horizontal/uphill)? Comparably fair prices for decent piste's I hear, and the nightlife according to hearsay is awesome.
January's out, Feb just could...
Jet, Thunder, Wess, you are all right. Romania is fun. Especially if you know how to seperate poor from miserable. The best behavior would be showing yourself at least a degree lower than you are, especially in financial terms. Work on your talent of modesty)))
Thanks for the tips for shirt/machine guys. Will help me in the future)))
I have been to Romania a couple of times, most notably last week( a couple of days whilst I was staying in Moldova)much the same as moldova, but much richer(not saying much. Gdp per head about 20% of France, Germany, UK...The window of opportunity will be slim in Romania, due to join the EU in 2007, but easy to visit as £10 visa at airport
You are correct Jet, not dried up yet, but soon they will be EU citizens and be able to go and find thier man in Western Europe rather than waiting for him to come to her, maybe Moldova has a decade
