I came across another forum:
East European International Dating Forum
< www planet-love com/wwwboard/russian/>
(it seems to be non-commercial, so the address may perhaps not be deleted...)
A question was asked there about how to open a bank account and send 'her' a Bank Card to it.
My cynical old self feel that this is an extremely bad idea!
(unless you know her very very well!).
I am looking forward to the debate there on this topic.
And, what do you think here in this forum about the idea?
PS They have from time to time some interesting debates there.
Marry first?
Find someone first!
The sea is full of fish see, but the bait's just gone fishing :)))
But G, regarding the fact you have surpassed yourself - by adhering to your near-original nick and posting a full message, just a pity of the habitual PS - let's respond.
Dear Ge, we in fact have discussed this already, in various threads, and the consensus was that sending her a debit-card was a viable option. No overdraft-dangers, remotely controllable, safe & convenient.
But Gee G, if you want to send her a Gold Visa card be my guest.. oh wait, I'll be her's rather, since (your!) money's no object then ;-)
While you're at it why don't you sign over the title to your home cars, savings and all your personal property and put it in her name to show your love for her?
Never mind that she is not obligated to do the same thing with her vagina for you....but go ahead Geriatrix, empty your pockets to show your love and devotion.
It never ceases to amaze me how conditioned western men are by western females and the very practices we claim to try to avoid.
Men, stop exporting the very feminist ideas that ruined the core of traditional family values in the west.
DO NOT pay for anything that has not been earned. Period.
Is it a coincidence that Mother Nature desigend a woman's vagina in the shape of a "purse"??....I think not!!
I know - no, let me rephrase that - WE know you're a bit of a weirdo Toad, but jeezlike, where do you do your shopping? Like your purse???
I though life's a Peach, but hey, I life fresh fruits :)
Would NEVER send a credit card or a traditonal debit card....
BUT there is a service that has been mentioned here before. If you ARE sponsoring a lady - (hey its your business) you have MET HER and choose to send her money from time to time - you can use a service like Western Union - and pay through the nose (I believe it is $20 to send $100 or any fraction of that amount to Moldova - that means id you want to doll out - say $50 add the $20 service fee and you are paying a whopping FORTY PERCENT!!)
A less expensive alternative is iKobo (available through...suprisingly enough www.ikobo.com, using this service you can send her any amount your little heart desires an pay just 4% plus a $1.50 ATM fee. She uses it just like a Visa Plus at any ATM. She can only take out the amount that you put in. The card has a four digit pin number and otherwise looks much like a Visa card but there is no nam eon the card (neither her name nor yours).
In some FSU countries there is a one time $9.95 fee for delivery (in Latvia there is, not in Moldova though).
The service works great - and your lady will probably like using the ATM (just don't train er too well on it.)
As we have also already discussed the problem with a traditional debit card -is that you either have to send her one in YOUR name - which she can actually get in trouble for possessing I am told. Or you have to open an account in HER name - more easily said than done in te US after 911 (you need signatures and a lot of information).
Ikobo can be ordered over the internet with no fuss or bother. A courier will deliver it to her.
OK, no 'deja vu', 'here we go again', etc.. The case was a little more special, and they actually discussed the issue in a rational fashion without abusing each other in that forum.
I am not good at 'reading the signs' - good that I don't speculate on the stock market.
By the way: that forum has a posting about 'Agency fine for failure to screen male client'.
Food for thought!
Todays headline, Baltimore Jury awards Ukrainian woman $434,000.00 who sued an internet match making agency that matched her up with a man here in the states that abused her after they got married. She acused Encounters International of fraud and negligence saying they should have screened their male clients and specifically informed her of a law that helps foreign national escape abusive marragies with out the fear of deportation. She (Nataliya Fox) testified that the owner of the dating service(Natasha Spivack) advised her to endure the abuse or return to her native Ukraine.
This same law that she needed to know about is a law that we as men need to know, the one where she swears and affirms as an alien relative that she is being abused by her spouse and you are screwed, here in the USA anyway.
