Well, It's been a while since I contributed to this forum (I participated regularly from march till July). I kinda grew tired of some of the irrelevance and pomposity - it seems as though those fellas have moved on. This forum was great back in the days of Tim and Jet and DMA and Toad and all. It provide invaluable advice, and encouragement and humor, along with just the right amount of angst and controversy.
My purpose in writing here again is to report a little on my recent 14 day trip to Moldova to visit the lovely and kind Lucy (i.e. Lucia, Ludmila) from Chisinau. I met Lucy here at Fiance.com after corresponding with a good number of other fine FSU women. I hoped to visit her in July but family and work matters prevented it. She and I were both quite disappointed but we pressed on and continued our letters and phone conversations (over 200 on both accounts). We felt deep affection for each other and a developed a genuine understanding. For months we refrained from saying the words "I love you" to each other, but ultimately we could find no other words to express how we felt and what we thought about each other; both realizing that only when we finally got together and spent time in person would we truly know.
In short, our time together was superb! I stayed with her and her young daughter at her apartment in Chisinau. We spent some days also in the very old village of Ungheni Village where she grew up and where her parents and others in her family still live. We also spent some time with her sister and her family in a new, middle class village. The cultural experience was great. I had no problems at all with travel.
Of course the main reason to travel 5000 miles, from the US, was to see if my sweet Lucyka was possibly the woman of my dreams. Well, she is!! We spent 13 amazing days together.. talking, walking, shopping, and whatever else together.
I will visit again in a few months at which time we will finally decide whether to wed or not. We of course talked much about this, and both are excited about the possibility. Then in May or June we would tie the knot… and live together happily ever after.
I don’t know who you all are in the forum now, or what you guys have been talking about , but if anyone is interested I’d be happy to share my experiences. But in any event I just wanted to inform those who may remember me and were curious what happened with me and Lucy. Also I’d like to encourage everyone to keep pressing on in your pursuit of love with a fine FSU gal.
Yes ensata congrats to you and I hope things go well. We would like to hear more as some of us are in your same place. I am at that same stage of its time to meet and see. I hope that I am as lucky as you!
(We've knocked it over a few times and still have it right down there - whatever that means.) ;)
But seriously congrats on finding the Moldovan girl of your dreams - I'm giving it a go with my Moldovan. There is something to be said for the beautiful women from that tiny, nearly unheard of, country.
You, me, trad, musicman - not just a few of us seem to head that general direction.
