The only wish my lady has is that she wishes her dad could be there for her, this is a big dilemma for me trying to get a visa for him but i dont think its possible. Maybe after she lives here it would be possible but she isnt even here yet. The visa requirement definitly makes it a requirement to get married here first in my country. dont know about other countries
She wants a nice wedding and she wants a beautiful white dress, there is no quick wedding thoughts allowed, period. Oh and dont forget the honeymoon, lol. I really dont blame her, I want it too. I did mention to her already that I would marry her in Russia next year for her family and friends to see. So the cost of a Russian wedding is a good question.
QuietCharm, it all depends, the most of girls wishes white dress, then getting registered, then going to the restaurant with close friends and family, or without family. It all depends. If the newlywed couple doesn't have enough money, of cours they may just register and have a small party at home with some friends. I think that most people think about about wedding, depending on how much money they are able to spend on the wedding, without getting into many debts.
Or it may happen like it was at my parent's wedding. They wanted to get registered and no white dress and things like that, but when they were passing by a shop, they saw a very nice and rather cheap white dress, and decided...why not?:)
Some bigger issues involve VISA'a and the country you will be residing in when all is done. I am told that it is much easier to get a Fiance Visa to the United States than to get married in her country and then get a Visa.
Besides, it may likely work best for her to visit your country for a time, first, to ensure she will not have insurmountable problems.
After you are married, you could then arrange to come back to her country to have a small ceremony with family and friends.
Actually, I happen to think it's a good idea for her to see the life she can expect in her new home before making that final commitment, anyway.
I seem to remember this comming up before somewhere but directely in relation to a visa. It is easier for Visa to marry after she arrives. Someone had the solution of a mook wedding for her families sake. Aparently you can do this over there (do not shout me if I am wrong). Have a ceromony there as often its not a overly large affair there as they can usualy not afford it. Once you get her home you can have another for your friends if you want or just get registered. After all it usualy more important to the girls to have this day than for use.
