Could one of you kind gentelmen please translate these few words for me. I have been on line with the free on line translators and have had no luck. I guess its out to buy a dictionary. Is there a good web site for translations? Also a good book or web site to learn Russian ñ ìàâìà ôå÷ñ Bob
Bob I use translation.paralink.com. It is an IE plug-in. Interestingly, when I put in ñ ìàâìà ôå÷ñ (this is how your phrase decoded in my system), it changed the wording to ß ËÞÁËÞ ÒÅÁß. This translates to "Ilove you". I looked up your phrase as it decoded in my system and could not find those words in my dictionary.
As you have already learned the unknown phrase is “I love you.” The word “ôåøñ” is an informal (and much more personal) “you.” (I think the problem with getting the “correct” translation was because of the capital “B” in ôåøñ. . .(“B” = “V” whereas “ø” = “bee” in Russian)).
As far as bilingual dictionaries, try Oxford University’s press (http://www4.oup.co.uk/). This is also a good site to remember for the future. . .they have excellent “English as a second language” material.
As far as learning Russian, you can try Pimsleur or Rosetta Stone. I recommend both highly. Pimsleur has CD’s or cassettes, whereas with Rosetta Stone, one may learn on-line. Both programs are costly. But if you go through with finding the perfect Russian woman, learning “a little” Russian is an excellent investment.
Pimsleur can be found at: http://www.pimsleurdirect.com/
Rosetta Stone, at: http://www.rosettastone.com/home
If you have any other translation problems, I’ll be glad to help.

P.S. Both http://www.online-translator.com/ and http://translation.paralink.com/ are helpful. But, try not to rely on them for translating your letters to Russian; they do work, but they are not EXACT.
