It is called Systran, and it can translate to/from ; English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, japanese, Korean, Dutch, Portugese, Swedish and Chinese...
Just write your letter in a word document, choose language, click a button... magic..
To translate from another language to the preferred.. same routine..
I am sorry but the file seem to be a little too large to go by email. I am sorry for not looking into that before making this post. There are however other ways to get it... I will put it out for downloading at Bearshare, Bearshare is a free software wich allows person2person downloading, just download it, search for "ForumFSU" ( I renamed it to prevent too much traffic from others) and the file will be yours. I am online 24/7, so it should be possible to DL it. If nothing works, send me an email, and I will send it on a cd. The prog is called Systran 5.0 Again, I am sorry, but this is the best I can do to help you guys. It is really fun to write in Russian to the girl you love, at least my girl was thrilled.. laughing and said... I understand everything, and it is written in such a funny Russian... Like you don't know all the grammar... What could I say??? Ehhmmm... I don't... lol
It's driven by same SW, and is the quickest around - ideal for ICQ-ing.
But give me the link your package is on (an .exe or compiled program?), I would not mind to run it myself.
You got it where - undisclosed mabe? ;-)
the site and program for download is at www.bearshare.com TD,and I did dowload the filesharing prog myself but alas still as yet unable to find Norwegians very generous offer....any more information Norwegian????
Yeah i got Systran too. Mind boggler. I doing websites and use scripting in them as a hobby but this was wierd, you need diplomas to work this bugger out.
Nice to hear that there is a good translation software...and that it can help!:) But I doubt that I will ever change my attitude towards translation softwares...
hi all, just used my translation thingy last night and I got a reply from the girl I emailed saying it was the worst russian she ever read, luckily i tpyed the english version too. Could consider it rubbish, anyone with experience of this systran software, help is required, ta muchly.
here is something for you, translated by same software to English:
He say, giant to ouwe, how go it with your? Everything kits behind slither, or what? Clear see vent, and haaks chop you!
I promise the original language used is perfect, however invariably plenty goes lost as you will notice, especially so when some slang or idiom is used. If one is fluent in a lang this is what is used to give it flavour, and precisely this flavour makes the outcome gibberish.
Translation-SW is a way for making-do, nothing more - handy, sure, but very limited.
OK.. Sorry guys.. My friend told me it worked just fine. I could have been lucky with the stuff I wrote, or he was just being polite not to hurt my feelings.. lol
Any way, I understand now this software is not the solution at all. It might be ok to translate words or small sentences, but not complete letters...
I have decided to buy me a Russian language education on DVD.. hehe..
Besides, there's nothing wrong with using translation software, and as said Systran is a good one. Quick when used via the net, the quickest I know of, but also good quality-wise. Prompt also is good, but hellishly slow at the best of times.
And put it this way Santa - without it you couldn't read the wishlists of all those you visit. Now imagine I've asked for a for a shapely scorching hot petite companion, but because you don't understand half of it I'll end up finding a Barbiedoll in my sock hanging from the chimney... ;)
