I am wondering if there are certain requirements, regarding current income and employment, with either the K1 or K3 visa.
I currently lost my job, while corresponding with a girl for almost a year now. I have already spent 3 weeks with her in Moscow and we are thinking about marriage. Any information or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
DDuuuhhhh...get antoher job!
You'll need it to show you have income to support her.
If you apply for your fiance visa while collecting unemployment or any other form of public assistance, you're screwed...!!
A s far as the income is concerned - the entire focus is that you and she not become publich charges. They don't want someone coming over who is going to be on public assistance. That is why not only do you need to show that you have an income NOW that is above the pverty level by some percent (I think its 125%) but that you have a good history of producing income. Most embassies require you to present a letter from your employer indicating the length of your employment and your current salary. Many also require thre years of income tax forms.
Check this website for technical things. Its all there.
