I read so many posts Toads,Nors,Thunders and a slew of others I failed to mention but couldn't find the answer.(good luck on all your trips BTW) I sent an e-mail to a woman don't know if she got it yet. How long should I wait for a reply? I gave her my direct hotamil address hope that's ok.Says she has English 2 what that means I haven't a clue. Does it mean she'll have to have my letter interpeted or that she can read and write english? Should I use the interpeter thing when I write to her? She has been sent 4 letters does that mean she is off the market? Is there a forum or chat for them to talk to us directly? It says independent by her name does that mean she has her own computer I take it? I have the V.I.P. package does agency e-mail still cost 8 bucks a whack to write if they are with an agency? what is the agency sounds ominous? What airport(s) is located in the Ukraine that has international flights? That's for you seasoned travelers trivia question.Was eyeballing Southern Ukraine near Sefastopol (spelling might be off) near Yalta. FSU-( Former Soviet Union ) It has taken me up to a month to get a reply from someone but I would never wait that long again! Too many others willing to reply much sooner! English 2 means she has a low level English skill, not the best situation for a woman who is "independant".( her own access to a computer) and not through an agency. 4 letters means that she has only received 4 letters from men so far. (Not many at all) VIP package is the best deal by far as you can write to as many women as you want, have your letters translated (though not if they are writing you "independantly") all the the low, low price of $29.95 a month. You do not have to pay the $8 letter fee with the VIP package. I can't tell you much about the airports there except that surely Kiev is international. Somehow i have pulled off my first trip in 10 days. My lady is not impressed by money. She likes me. You will find the same thing if you keep trying. The are not western women. Sounds like an obvious thing to say but it is not. It takes forever to get this through our heads. My lady actually dumped a multi millionaire. More money than enough believe me. A good man too. However she said that what was the point in crying in a 5 star hotel each night. other problems. $40k is plenty. I hold down a job, I believe in God, I don't drink like a fish and I would no more hit a woman than cut my own willy off. We write or call every single day. When you are fltering through take this communication thing seriously. I recently had someone write to me 3 months after I wrote to her! Forget about it. Also the level of English. However with the latter you would be surprised at the ability that someone who claims to have level 2 has. They are quite modest. They are for the most part not looking for Rockefeller, just a working guy to love and love them in return. Often the have children and that isn't a bad thing. I have come to understand that the kids are really kids not like western children who at the age of 12 are going on 32. Also they seem to be very accepting of step dads. In the case of another lady I was dating she was extremely hurt over the death of her stepfather. She loved him very much. I have just not seen the level of animosity that can exist in the west reagrding dad or mum remarrying etc. My lady has a new mum and a young brother in Moscow. That new mum is about her age. They adore one another! All in all most of the problems that we se on a regular basis with western women you will not see. I am not saying it is perfect just much better. One thing that drives me mental is this Russian stoic attitude. They seem to lean right into any hardship with a "that's life" attitude. I am from the USA and have met a lady from Ukraine and we are very happy together. I just got back from Kiev and spending some days with her. We hit it off wonderful and had a great time. I only was able to stay a few days with her as I was coming down with a cold when I went there and it was so bad I had to come back early. Anyway my questions are these. Anyone know where the Fiance visa is handled from in Ukraine? Is it in Kiev Anyone know how the process is and time factors and so on? I say this because the lady I have met was not at all interested in money. I can tell you that many of these ladies have a lot of pride and would never ask anyone to send them money for anything and will not take money even if you try to give it to them. As for my lady, when we decided to meet in Kiev, she had to take a bus there to meet me, and she would not let me even send her or pay for her bus trip. She was at the airport some 3 hours before I got there and was waiting for me with a wonderful smile after I came through customs. We had a wonderful time and now feel even closer then in the letters we had written for many months. Even as we went shopping she would not let me buy her anything, just would tell me that she is happy to be with me and that was all she wanted. I know we had already decided we wanted to be together before we met but I must say that many of the ladies have a great deal of pride and will not ask ever for money if they are truly interested in you. Connecting flights to any of these will be fairly straightforward from St Pete,but don't forget the transit visa if you choose that route!! I want exactly the same thing as you... a lady that just wants a man to love her and her children if she has them I have raised step children my children and I love each of them very much. Of the 400+ ladies who wrote back to my initial intro letters, I kept in regular touch with only six (6) of them. Only a few percentage of these 400 women were locked to an agency. I learnt very early that you save a lot of time and avoid frustrating language obstacles if you chose a woman who can communicate with you directly. Did this approach keep me from meeting some other wonderful agency dependent or only russian speaking women? ...I'm sure it did. But shit, if I can't find one good one among 400, I might as well pack it in and throw my johnson to the dogs. When I found this website, I honestly thought I was the only idiot sick and tired of having to deal with western feminazis. It was a great relief to find sicker idiots than me who share the same basic guidelines of my quest...:))) There are different approaches to find a good woman from FSU. I do not like to use agencies (other than to procure travel, accomodation or some other related services) or attend Socials, Although some men swear by either or both of them. You could say I did it the long way by building a good solid friendship with a woman I got to know fairly well within the limited scope of what the distances can allow. Firstly I wish stingrr the best of luck it all sounds fantastic. I think you struck gold. personally I have a personal restriction on age. I decided very early on that marrying a woman 20 plus years younger than myself possibly could be dodgy. There are so many angles to this I don't want to dig into them. I decided 10 to 15 years and no more. I am 49 so that meant 34 to 39. That still left the possibility of children. Women have kids into their 40's all the time nowadays. I, unlike Toad, did not write to 400 women. I really only used Fiance with 1 exception. I for some reason had an incredibly high response rate. This was due to my amazing good looks and sparkling personality. Yeah right !! No I believe it was because I was honest and realistic. I was not looking for Britney Spears although if she contaced me and wanted to spend an amusing evening that would involve leather and high heels...... I chose someone who was not the most attractive but at the same time an absolute 10 by western standards. Certainly way out of my usual class. When I think of my ex wife I cringe. No I am not going to start talking about kipper dancing again. (private joke). She has a child of 11 about to turn 12. This phased me to begin with now I am used to it and it isn't what it seemed at the beginning. She was not waiting for me to come along. We developed a realtionship via emails and calling. In fact that is the center of my life now. Everything revolves around it. Now Toad and I are going to Ekaterinburg to see what happens. In my case after what will be 4 months of a growing relationship. Worth every stolen second at work. Secondly the weight thing. I am 5' 11' and weigh 215. that is about 20 minimum over weight. I have the obligatory middleaged spread. you beat me out by a few pounds but I wouldn't worry about it. When I told this 10 that I didn't like being oeverweight her quick reply was that she doesn't like skinny men. She only finds men with some extra weight attractive. So don't sweat it. I am also going thin on top. I hate this and will have a little crop rotation done when I return. She finds this hysterical. Apparently I should go bald with dignity. Then I can look like a monk in a buddhist temple. In other words looks don't matter anywhere as much as they do with a western bitch - sorry woman. They prefer what is on the inside, genuinely. Difference is that when you see that in a profile of a western woman it is because they weigh 400 pounds and look like Dick Cheney. They have to say that. A woman of the calibre I have found would never in a million years be satisfied with a guy like me in America. They have a whole different set of values.
