Ditto sent me a very helpful package of fiance visa paperwork, including a copy of the Power of Attorney that will avoid wasting time sending docs back and forth to Russia for anyone's fiance to fill.
It's still printing, but so far I don't see any confidential information about Ditto or Valentina, so It should be no problem if anyone is interested in this 'steaming pile' of fiance visa docs.
E-mail me if you're interested and I'll send it to you.
I guess it's only helpful to US citizens trying to bring their women to the US.
Ehhh Toad, I think the referral fee would be mine. If anyone emails the people at arctec. com, they will send you the same document for free. Just so you know these are not the keys to the kingdom.

Whack one over to me will you.
I am full of hope thanks to Frank Vans experience. As Cheech says "you can do iiit". Attorney, attorney? We don't need no stinking attorney.
Izi,
I read all 50 pages yesterday.
It's pretty well explained and details the entire process for both you and your fiance.
Spending the 1,500 it costs is my not so humble opinion worth every cent....and then some.
Roth seems to be an infallible attorney and I've heard others besides Ditto praising his skills and efficiency.
I have a superbly magnified and built-in desdain for red tap government bureaucracy and I see this fiance visa thingie as one of the few remaining obstacles blocking the road to blissful happines.
I always knew I'd be delegating this to some pro.
No doubt whatsoever.
Guys, this is the second time I have read about the attorney ROTH come up in a positive way. Is he good? How many of you guys have used him? I know I probably do this paperwork myself, but time is very valuable for me as my work is very demanding. Need some insight on who is good and who to stay away from as far as attorneys go. Thanks Bob
I used Roth as you can probably tell from the posts. My fiancee' visa took 96 days total, including about a week delay by the Kiev embassy. Roth's office followed up and moved the process ahead.
He has someone on the ground in Russia and Ukraine who can work with the ladies, i.e. documentation procural and interview prep. They track everything for you and you can log into their site with your case number and see where things stand, like outstanding documents, when forms were submitted and received, when it was handed off from USCIS to NVC and embassy. It was all very painless.
I have been through it all, except the status change, but I will be using him for this also. We get married next week. For 2 months she said she wasn't sure, based on how my son (5 years) was bonding with her, then she only wanted to do the marriage paperwork, no wedding, and now she wants a wedding. I had only 2 weeks notice to put it together, now only 1 week left.
Any of you guys can email me directly, if you need specifics.

With the K1 visa the fiance must enter the US within 6 months of the issue date or it expires. After she arrives in the US, 90 days is allowed to either marry or she must return to her country of origin.
I need to put my two cents worth in reference to attorney John Roth.
Last year I used him and he did an excellent job (I decided not to bring the lady after all). My only complaint was that just before I sent the papers to him he raised his fee by $300, and a couple of months later brought it back down. This year I again wanted to use his services (new lady) and I started to send him the paperwork. While waiting for him to send me the contract to sign, again he raised his fees by $300!! There is a pattern here; he raises fees during summer months when the demand is high. What really bothered me is that he never said anything knowing I had already sent him some of the paperwork he requested. He could at least have warned me about the fees going back up again, especially since I had a good rappor with one of his associates and I was a repeat customer.I could have then sent the payment earlier. This is a cheap trick and one that I did not appreciate! Talking to his office and expressing my feelings got me nowhere. This really showed me where his loyalty laid (I guess my loyalty was not even considered).
It was a matter of principle now, so I fired him. Now I have a different attorney, not as efficient and whom I have to watch like a hawk. Some people do not know the meaning of the word integrity. Just goes to show you, business is business and unless you have it in writing, don't trust anyone.
Just keep this in mind when you do hire him. By the way, if you talk to his office you can use my name (Jay). They need to know that this sort of dealings does not say much for him, no matter how good of an attorney he is.
Jet, you don't know how to bargain! You had to ask for a wholesale discount from Mr Roth! Let's say 5 brides - minus 20%, 10 and over brides but in the period not exceeding 2 years - 30% discount!:-)
Oh man! That's really funny! I am sure Mr Roth had no clue how to approach a REPEATED client as all the matter does not presume any repeating.:-)
Geez.... Go away for just a few weeks (okay months) and already there is a guy being called Jet for short.
Just to differentiate - can we add the few extra keystrokes and refer to him as Jetson? Or, if you prefer, add a few for me and refer to me as jetmba? No offense to jetson of course - but even I am about to become confused!
Anyway - I can't imagine being asked to pay $300 more because I cannot imagine paying an attorney for this process - especially the second time around. It really isn't that difficult - just time consuming. And since you have too assemble the papers ANYWAY to send to him and have sit on HIS desk for a while - the time consuming aspect isn't likely to be better with an attorney - but longer.
As for me - my nearly three month experiment bringing my Moldovan lady over is coming to an end with no particular definitive decision being reached. Having lived together for three months - we will now part company and decide later if we will marry. Which visa we will use - whether we will try for another fiance visa, or one the two marriage based visas (which require marriage in her country) we still do not know. It is a big decsion not to be entered into lightly and we are both aware of this.
I can say with certainty that she is NOT just anxious to marry to establish citizenship in the US. And I heed the adage - "Marry in haste, repent at leisure."
Ha! :)I did try to approach the whole thing with a light humor to no avail. In actuality I was dealing with one of his associates. His words were "no frequent flyer with us". In another situation it would have been a funny remark, but not in this case. For me it was not about the money any longer, it was the way they went about the whole thing.I would have gladly paid the new fees if they weren't so underhanded. I did not tell them this but the whole thing felt like price gouging. I know these are strong words but I cannot help the way I feel about it. In all fairness I am sure he will do a great job for anyone, he did for me the first time. I will let others decide for themselves; I just want them to know what happened to me. :)
