ok I have been hand typing each and every first contact letter and realize I will have carpal tunnel in a few days. It's just that I don't know what information I should put in a template ....is it more like a cover to a fax or should I go into details about myself? What do you guys do? Do they work effectively?

I never wrote to a lot of women - my fiance I met at a Social. But I did write a little and at first I decided I wasn't going to use a template. I decided that any woman I deemed worthy of writing to was also worthy of an original composition geared specifically to her profile. That didn't last long. Myybe two letters. After that it seemed the template just sort of wrote itself. Did they work? Well I did meet that gorgeous 20 year old Latvian by way of a template. I'd say it worked.

Mine have been very effective Sandman... Almost too effective some times, I have till now been answered by all women I have written, and they are all interested.. So, what do I do??? Nothing special, I am my self, and I tell things about myself. I tell only the truth, I don't wanna have a lot to explain if I should get some real feelings for the girl. Just tell the truth, be open. Tell her what you like, what kind of person you are. Are you romantic? Tender? kind? jealous or not jealous? Do you have children? Do you like children? Are you familyoriented? Are you active in your childrens life? Do you have some hobbies? What do you like to do? What do you look for in a woman? Just be your self, tell your story. Tell her where you live, what it is like. Do you have a lot of friends? I usually enclose some pictures of me, and also some pictures from my country (We have great nature, it really make them stunned.. lol - lucky me..) I think you have to figure this out yourself, but I hope I gave you some ideas to work with. Just be honest, the truth will come to the surface sooner or later... When that is said, in the first letter I usually write little less detailed if you understand what I mean, I tell about my personality and some other things, but not all the details.. Hope I didn't make you more confused... hehe We are all different, and I am sure some of the other guy have wuite different approaches. But as I told, I have always got letters in return... Hmmmm..... didn't know it was wrong izi.I see your point though. Wasn't looking for what to write specifically was more intrested in the format.Like what Nor told me. I didn't know if I should make it like an open letter or numerize my points and make it like a list. Then I thought well that looks stupid (kept getting longer and longer).Then I thought maybe I should break it down into sections with titles like "About me" and "what I'm looking for" yada yada yada.I think I will blend Nors ideas into diffrent Subjects list and make it like an article type deal and fill in the blanks.

Sandman I've never used a template, to me it seems a little cold and too much of a form letter. Just write what you feel in each letter,with little pieces of information. If you get a response then write in more detail.

I agree.. I also write different letters all the time. No template that I send to everyone... I was just trying to help him to help himself.. sort of...

Sandman If you email me privately I will share my introduction template with you. We can then change the details to fit you. You will see that it is not cold and it covers all the bases without looking like a template. There are personal things in there about myself that is why I don't want it all over the forum. However once you see it you will understand.

God forbid you should write a resume! Ever see that movie with David Arquette "2 Brothers and a Bride" or sometimes known as "A Foreign Affair"? Rent it and you will understand. It is funny but screwed up also. The older brother takes the 'resume' approach. He actally conducts interviews in his bedroom like it was an office. He has them lined up down the corridor, it's funny. :))

Humor has always been a main ingredient of any and every profile template I placed anywhere, domestic or international. If you help them laugh or even smile, you're in...:)) So don't take it or yourself too seriously. toad

I have nothing against you or Toad at all, it is just about to be veryyyyy boring.. And it f**ck up all the threads.. Some people are asking questions, they want answeres, not a fight between you two.. You are one of the persons that have been here with some constructive posts about flights and so on. Toad has also been to great help to many people in here.. Please keep it like that, then the forum is what it is supposed to be, somewhere to get answeres, and share fun, sorrows, laughter, joy, sadness and our own experiences.

We are all properly offended when every once in a while someone asks if myabe there is something wrong with somone who would seek a mate through means such as this. And of course every guy I've ever met who's doing this is as normal as the next. But every once in a while a true nut-case emerges - and us all look bad. I can think of no better example.
