I have met a girl in Cheboksary . and she wants to
come to the USA to meet me she is going to pay her own
way what all do I or she need to do to come here ? I
can not go to meet her until July and at this time I
have got my Passport and need any info for me to go to
her also this July .
First, be on your guard. Tourist visa's to the U.S. from Russian citizens is very hard to come by unless the person is well off.
If she has the ability to come, so be it, but be aware that eventually she may start asking for money.
In regards to visiting her, you need a tourist visa and an invitation. There are several ways to achieve this, like going through a russian travel agency.
I can't say I have personal experience with Cheboksary, but there are several others here that have been (or at least that area), so I will leave specific advice in that regard to them.
As long as she is going to pay her way here, then let her try. It is almost impossible for her to come here. You would know that if you know the visa laws. You must see her first! If she asks for money to help her get here and you send it, chances are good that you will lose it. Remember that!Go see her first and then study the visa laws. Don't send money!!!! Ask anyone else here!!! You'll get the same answer!
Is there any place I can look up the visa laws ? and yes we have been talking for 4 months and she has been saving up for this . She has asked me for NO money and thanks for the help

read posting about this subject on this forum. It is 99.9% that she will be refused visa to usa. also go to USA embassy in Moscow web site and read all info. you do not need to ask anybody. all info is not hidden. she can apply for tourist visa anytime:)
do not let her waist money. go meet her somewhere else in Dominican Republic resort, or Egypt.
Regarding Egypt....is it safe there for Americans? Has anyone been there? what part? what hotel? were arrangemnets good? How about transportaion to and from airport? The list goes on but that should suffice for now:)
I wouldn't go to Egypt if they bought my ticket and set me up in a 5 star hotel. Screw that place. I might as well vacation in the Gaza strip. I think your taking you life in your hands even if you go to the dominican republic. But its only my opinion =)
Unless shes a student they will never let her in. Mine just got her visa and when they questioned her they took a magnifying glass to my taxes and ALL my financial paperwork. Even after we did everything right and waited just like everyone else they still wanted to give her a hard time. I wish it was easier but it isnt. All I can say is lots of luck

Thnks she is so insistent on coming here first she has a 2 year old she says she can not bring (that its to hard to get a child a visa) and yes she is going for a tourist visa to come here . What I real need to know if there is anything I can do from this side to help her ?
Oh and by the way are any of you going say like in July the first two week anytime ? I realy would like to make some friends that may be going so I know someone to hook up with and hang with I was told a buddy system was best . E Mail me if you like
Jd. My big advise is not to send any money to the lady "to help" her. She will not get a visa, just believe this. And besides she wil tar her record with the US government so it will be harder for her than to apply for a fiance visa.
You know her small child is not a big plus for her to get a tourist visa. last year our client who has 2 small sons and besides very well financially established was refused in getting a tourist visa.
She is losing her time.
So is the best thing for me to go there first then ? with her apply for a fiance visa for her ? I have 4 months to get things together and like say she ask for NO MONEY and even when I bring it up she tells me NO .I think I got lucky on this one (girl) from what everyone is saying that alot of them try to get money out of you (smile) Thanks all and everyone for your help .
Just to clarify - the 4 months thing (for the fiance visa) begins AFTER your I-129F petition has been approved by the Regional Service Center of the Homeland Security Department.
There is A LOT OF paperwork to assemble to file the I-129F but you have as much time as you need to do it - keeping in mind of course, that once you DO decide to file it, you DO want to get it in as quickly as possible. Because you will inevitably wait a LONG time for it to be approved. After that approval though is when your four months begin.
