Me and my Svetlana, are planning on getting married in Russia this Spring. I am an American citizen. Can anyone please tell me what documents I will need, or direct me to some helpful information. Thanks!
Iceking,
Call this phone number in Atlanta, georgia 770-458-0909 . Ask for Kyle or Brian Steckle. They are the family owners of a reputible business called European Connections.
www.russiantours.com They have a good attorney who has all the answers you will need. This is what he specializes in . They never had a screw up in their business history for russian marriages. It should cost no more than 1200 dollars in fees. You will get a hundred different ways to do things on this forum which is all good . But this is a matter i would leave to the experts. I have met these brothers . They are good guys and you will get free advice with a phone call. They will be happy to talk to you.
Hi Ice.
Would really like to monitor your progress on this one. Good luck.
I was think of perhaps jumping over to say "Turkey"" where it is not a problem for FSU people to visit (think I got that right) and getting married.
We don’t have the Fiancée Visa anymore in New Zealand. So it is not any easy task to get your lady here, I can tell you !!
I have lost a really good lady because of a visa denial from our Immigration Services. Mongrels !!!
There are several good sites to look at. Try http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/spouselive.htm for a starter. Also I think Jetmba has posted the very best site, unfortunately I am away from home and I do not have that site bookmarked on this computer. I am sure someone will provide it.
I was in Moscow several months back and I visited the embassy to ask that same question. They let me know at that time it was taking an aditional 2 months to bring your lady back to the US if you were married there (in Russia). The paperwork route is different for the K-3 (spouse) visa versus the K-1 (fiance) visa.
I am just now ready to prepare K-1 visa myself. Several others are just finishing the long ordeal and have posted their successes.
ForeignBorn.com is a site for foreigners who are about to enter the U.S. This site helps newcomers with much-needed information, such as what forms they have to fill, what they need to do to get to the U.S., and a host of other questions.
A "Guide Bar" helps people get specific information on various topics.
I guess New Zealand Immigration got sick and tired of all the foreign bride scammers and cut the fiance visa option off..I don;t blame them...it becomes expensive and time consuming for governments to round up and chase foreign bride scammers out of the country and I think New Zealanders have had too many bad experiences with FSU women..I think Australia will go like that soon because of the negative media publicity and government embarrassment of foreign women scammers.
I hear immigration will be cut due to economical conditions and the very limited 5,000 or so fiance visa class applicants allowed under the annual immigration cap will be cut first.
Australia wants immigrants with money to come here and invest..not foreign bride scammers who are a liability and expense to this country..Australian men, the door to a foreign bride will close soon and it will get like New Zealnd..impossible to bring in a foreign girl.
Hi Aussi
Don’t think you are quite correct on the Excessive FSU brides coming in to NZ. I have done extensive research internally, met the Ex Moscow NZIS manager here in Wellington and the new one over in Moscow. Been on Talk back radio etc.
It seems to have come more from the Asian invasion. People literally Ordering Asian Girls in and then using them for Prostitutes or picking fruit in work gang controlled by another Asian that creams large amounts of $$ from their hard work.
It is not impossible, to get your lady into NZ. You have to follow the rules and be prepared to do the time and research required or you can go under cover (which runs the risk of not succeeding and squashing further Visa applications) and try "Student Visa" just need valid Coarse Enrolment or using Russian Tour Company and her come over as a genuine visiting Tourist.
I got caught up in the change over timeframe, and a lot of crap was going down with a couple of Arab immigration issues that went very bad. Government got Egg on their face "Big Time"
