My results were o.k. That is in terms of having some very nice pen pals. However I have decided that I am going to take the plunge and spend $4000.00 plus on a tour. I need to make a trip there if I really going to be successful. My question is between Loveme.com and Anastasia tours, which one would you say is the best. And which is a better city to visit in terms of good-looking women, St Petersburg or Odessa? Anastasia socials are set up in a night club and the alchohol flows freely and some people are there who have no affiliation with the social. If that is the setting on how you would like to meet your future wife than go for it. It is a bar scene. European Connections on the other hand is very formal and very sincere with no alchohol in a well lit banquet room with refreshments and some games to interact. these i feel are a good way to meet . some people will balk but it worked for jet and me. Odessa is a fine city to visit . I was at kyiv. I took a tour with European Connections and had the (oft quoted) "time of my life". I would definitely choose Odessa again - first reason, though I have never been to St. Petersburg - I cannot IMAGINE having a better time than I had in Odessa. Second reason - I understand that prices are higher in St. Petersburg and you will meet a more urban sort of girl there. If neither of those factors bother you - then perhaps St. Petersburg isn't a bad choice. But I happen to love Odessa. Thou ght I was VERY happy with European Connections - the only thing I wasn't crazy about was the hotel that they use in Odessa - The Black Sea Hotel. Its lousy. But, unfortunately, Anastasia uses the same hotel. For that reason and just to be different - if I ever find myself in a situation to do it again (and who ever knows) I might go with AFA as jmoluv suggests above. They use the Hotel Odessa - a much nicer 5 star hotel. Its a little more expensive but I am guessing, well worth it. Before you pass judgment on me please finish reading this. Prior to my trip I had gone to great lengths to research all the companies which offer this service. I ended up with a company named Anastasia. I can tell you now, I made the right choice. I had heard some of the nightmare stories related to these tours but that was not the case for me or the men in my group. Jetmba, this year Anastasia switched the hotel. We stayed at the 5-star Odessa hotel and it was fantastic. The group, I was with, consisted of approximately 40 men, which I'm told is the average number of men for each tour. I was a bit concerned about that number since I didn't know how many women would attend the 3 socials Anastasia had scheduled. After the first social, that concern proved to be without merit. Well over 400 women attended. That's over 10 women to each man. Each and everyone more beautiful then the next and all there for the same reasons I was. Anastasia had also provided us with plenty of interpreters who were happy to assist us and even make the introductions for us. I don't mind telling you that was a great ego booster. From the minute I landed in Odessa, and was greeted by 5 members of the Anastasia staff, to the minute I climbed back on the plane for my journey home, I felt comfortable, safe and confident I had done the right thing. Now, I can only kick myself for not having done it sooner. Was the social not held in a loud music type atmosphere with alchohol being served where you can hardly hear eachother ? I was informed by men who attended their socials and the tour manager from the states told me that is exactly how they like it to be (a big party) when i talked to him on the phone about that particular. Maybe things have changed. Other than how you describe your visit and how they took care of you is very much the norm for all the better tour companies. Me and jetmba are strong advocates of socials . We had the (time of our life). He met his future wife at his and i made some very close girlfriends. Glad you enjoyed your SOCIAL!!!!!! I feel every man should at least try it once. It is a single mans dream , at least for me to be surrounded by hundreds of smiling lovelies.
