I have found a new site that looks very promising. Since my girl lives in Tallinn, and I have been there several times I checked Flights and Hotels for that city, and it all came up perfectly. Only hatch for me is that prices are in USD, but for most of you that is great I guess...
This is what AskMen magazine wrote in a review:
***Description:
Kayak.com is a new comparison-shopping website serving as a one-stop shop for users making travel plans. This travel aggregator offers a comprehensive search engine that search over 100 online travel sites, providing prices and itineraries for more than 550 airlines and 85,000 hotels.
What We Think:
With three major partners onboard (Orbitz, Expedia and Travelocity), this site is being referred to as the "Google meets Amazon" of online travel. To make shopping easier, it has integrated user-created reviews and ratings, and other relevant travel information with real-time prices and availability.***
I have also written about this site in the "Useful Links" topic, but I think it was so great it needed a propeer presentation in the Forum..
I don't know about it being Google meets Amazon.com.
I just picked two days in April pretyy much at radom and asked kayak.com for the best fare. It came backwith a fare of $4,164.00 which is about three to four times what I typically apy.
I then plugged the exact same days into sidestep.com and got a fare of $1,634.
If this is like Amazon - lets just say I can't afford to buy a whole lot of books!
Nor: I understand completely. You found a new tool or resource and, of course, its great to share it woth the forum. Some things work better for some people, depending on location, other things work better for other people.
My exclamation that it was higher priced than Side Step might have sounded a little more harsh than I intended.
SideStep alway seems to favor me and where I live. I still thank you for bringing us a new tool though.
No problem! Nothing wrong in having more options, and check the sites up against eachother. There is SideStep as you mentioned, Kelkoo, and now this one Kayak, and I am sure there are even more sites to compare prices at. I have learned that the cheapest flights I can get is directly from the airlinecompany, but that is on my specific flight to Tallinn. For other flights ordering directly doesn't always come out best.
