I know that this topic has been covered somewhere on this site but I was wondering if anyone has new info on this subject. I just got my visa back yesterday along with my passport to allow me to go to the Ukraine in May. However I didn’t receive a letter of invitation. I have been told that I don’t need one and I have been told that I do need one. I would hate to get over to the Ukraine and then told, “Get lost; you have no letter of invitation”. Do you need one or not?
Ice
Ice,
I was there in Sept and again in Feb. did not need one either time. I belive the letter is important in Russia but not Ukraine. You do not have to register in Uraine either.
You dont need one if you travel on the British Passport. And for other country visiters to Ukraine that do require one, they dont have to register it like Russia. Have a good time, will be there soon myself.
In order to apply for the visa it is necessary to submit to the Consular Section of the Embassy the following
OFFICIAL INVITATION (depending on the purpose of visit) from:
a)state organizations in Ukraine or;
b)companies in Ukraine (issued and authorized by immigration service of local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine) or;
c)religious organizations in Ukraine (issued and authorized by region’s state committee for religion) or;
d)private persons in Ukraine (issued and authorized by immigration service of local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine) or;
e)tourist organizations in Ukraine (tourist voucher or confirmation of prepayment of the hotel which must be duly signed and stamped);
NB! (For citizens of EU, Canada, the USA, Japan, Switzerland, Turkey and Slovakia who apply for business, sport, culture and private visas it is not necessary to submit OFFICIAL INVITATION).
