It is a very well known fact that Russian women, who are looking to find a husband, are very big dreamers. They are looking for their prince and if they cannot find and meet him in their own country will begin to look for him in the land of milk and honey, the Western world.
They are looking for a prince who can make their dreams come true; who will love them to death; call her a princess and from time to time will give her a "champagne bath".
If you laugh after you read the last phrase, don't.
I am as serious as a heart attack.
What I have just written in the previous paragraph, is a very truthful picture of the expectations most Russian women have who are looking for their Western prince.
These Russian women are not the only dreamers who are not facing reality but also many western men who are looking for Russian women.
Why?
Because a large majority of western men seek women who are willing to stay at home. A woman who will take care of her husband and kids. Western men are tired of the feminist movement and the independency of women from their own country and are trying to find peace for their soul in the arms of a Russian, "family oriented" woman.
Here is an interesting fact!
With the cost of living increasingly getting more and more expensive, the time when a family can survive with only the husband's salary is gone forever! More and more women have to work to help make ends meet. With that in mind here is an interesting question :
Do all men, who are looking for a Russian women, have an income greater than the average married western man, who can hardly make meet ends, even though there is a working wife or, are these men just big dreamers?
Do these men dream about the perfect family with dinner on the table every night, made by his Russian wife-housekeeper?
Do they have a financial base that allows them to build a family with only his income or, are they dreamers without any connection to reality?
I am really not trying to scare people away, I am just trying to detail the facts. Not every person is in a situation where it is realistic to search for a foreign wife. I just want to save them both for tears and dissapointment. The sooner the better...
I understand that it is a difficult world to live in without dreams but when we are talking about relocating a woman from another country then at least one of the partners has to be a realistic and down to earth person.
I don't think you understand the financial creativity of the American male, without dreams you have nothing. If you are to rely on a single salary as person and become a corporate slave you are doomed anyway, with or without a working spouse. That is the beauty of freedom and the beauty of America. I do not rely on my single job as my soul source of income. Also my situation is a little different. So children are not an issue. If a man wants it enough she doesn't have to work, but that is not our agenda. I want her to be what she wants to be. That is the beauty of freedom
"Here is an interesting fact!" do tell, where did you get this "fact"?
In my neighborhood, I can throw a rock and hit 3 houses with stay at home mothers. Trust me, there are plenty of men who can support a family easily on their own.
Personally, I prefer a woman that wants to work but I could support my family without her income. I think you are painting with a overly broad stroke there Nor.
I think I have to clear the air a bit here. This was no attack on Americans or other nationalities. It is not an attack on persons at all. It is a fact that some people dream, and some people believe their dreams so hard they forget the reality. That was my point. About the freedom, we have just the same kind of freedom in Norway as in USA, we share the same dreams, and we have the same opportunities. You know what really scares me? That (not all of you) Americans in general really know so little about the rest of the world. I remember a TV show.. They asked people from New York what was the biggest city in Norway... some of them answered "sweden" others were just shaking their head... Nas, it is not an attack on you, but do you really think your freedom is different from ours? I once wrote an essay about American Values, I know what I am talking about, believe me. I am almost tempted to paste it into here, but I wont at this time. When it comes to freedom and opportunities USA and Norway is very much the same. Remember, Norway is one of the riches countries in the world, we are only 4,5 million people here, and we have an ocean of oil... Our constitution is built from the American constitution... May be I sound a little pissed, I am not, really. I just want you to understand the difference is not that big. But still there are some differences of course.. Obesety is not yet the number 1 health risk in Norway for once. We have no hair.. we wear helmets with horns on... we are great lovers.. We are very kind, we look great.. just the same as Americans, except for the obesety and the helmets... Do you steal women, burn villages and rape?? We used to , but it is no fun anymore because our police is not taking bribes... hmm... I think I lost my red line here, we were talking about FSU wifes... ok, I just wanted to give some people a wake up call, as I wrote to spare some beautiful woman from FSU and themselves from the tears. I just wanted to remind people to be realistic. If it is no problem for you to support the woman, well, that is just great! If you ease up a little I think you understood what I wanted to say. We are lucky ones, I think most of us in the Forum is realistic, that is probably why we like to discuss these topics. But are all men writing with FSU women, giving the women a hope about a new life capable of doing it? What do you think? Painting with a broad stroke? Sure.. I love to be provocative... In a nice way.. Still friends?? :))
Did you know that right now, at this exact moment! :

But be aware, the numbers are running crazy... :)))
I know what you mean NOR I will never forget being asked what the capital of Paris is. A real question from 1984, I will never forget. Also if I get asked if I have met Charles one more time.......... :)))
I was not taking it as an attack on Americans at all. I was just refuting your comment.
I have to absolutely agree with your comment about the average American being completely ignorant of the rest of the world. Keep in mind we only have two neighbors so we don't get much direct contact with other countries. Hardly an excuse, just a weak attempt to justify.
As for your capital of Norway test, yes there are idiots out there but do you think they are going to make a tape of people that got the right answer? Would you watch that? Would you be talking about it if they did?
Nor,
The US educational system is by far the worst among all developed nations.
You know it, we know it and that's why the average american person does not even know basic world geography.
So stop harping on it.
After all, ignorance is bliss and as long as the tummies are full, americans will continue believing, acting and performing as if knowing the largest city in Norway, the capital of France and what language is spoken in China as something that requires an unneccessary effort for something completely irrelevant to their basic needs which are getting fat, get laid and not get caught cheating on our taxes.
Ignorance is bliss.
You are right about somethings but you really did miss the boat with you doughts of the American Male's earnning power. If you want to see it just tell one of us we can't do it! I know guys who work two and three jobs to make it so thier families don't go without. yes there are dreamers out there but if thier dream is in another country they will find a way to do it.
You're a hoot! I didn't take it personally. As for the differences in freedom, I will take you a bit to task on that one. Their is a Huge Difference in our freedom and yours. But I will leave that diatribe for a later time. Obesity is an issue but not for me. I have never been lazy and at 46 I still lift weights daily and ride a bicycle often. That is not a real statement of true americans. We hear about all the fat asses, but if you look at the majority of successful people here, they not only keep their financial house in order but their physical bodies also.
Toad
I agree with the education system being shit, but the option is private education, I did it for my daughter, I had to tighten the belt but it was worth it. Instead of school corporations they should be returned back to the control of parents like when I was young. It is funny how people who live in a different area are on school boards, it amazes me to this day. Neighborhood school boards are a better answer than an elected body from around the area. Thanks I have enough geography experience to last me for the rest of my life.
I did not start this topic to discuss USA vs Norway. I think it has nothing to do here, even if I don't understand what is so different with your freedom... As I said, our constitution is built on the American constitution. We more or less have a copy of the liberty of freedom... So how different can it be? We have 4% unemployment in Norway, I can have as many jobs as I like, I can earn as much money as I like, I can live wherever I like, I can be whatever I like... I am not trying to pick a fight here, I don't like to get in these kind of arguments, but I just don't get it. So please tell me what you can do, that I cannot... Just for the record I don't say Norway is better than USA, I am sure there are some good things in each country, + and - in both. I just don't think it is so different, you see, Norway is quite different from the rest of Europe.. We are very nationalistic, just as you are...
Have you never been on a forum with Americans before? Everything is about us and we feel we are the only ones that us the internet. We may be ignorant but we are pushy :).
