Hi all once again. I said awhile back that I was going to Lutsk. Well I did, no messing about, I just arranged it and went. Met with my Girl. Wow !!!!!
Anyway, I asked her to come to the U.K. for a holiday, she said yes, with a bit of hesistation and worry as she has never flown before.
So my question is this, What do Ukrainians have to do to get a Visa to come to the U.K.?
I know about the letter of Invitation and the forms from the British Embassy but does she have to go to the Ukrainain Authorities too to make a claim for a Visa?
Information last time around was great, thank-you all that helped.
Glad to know it worked out for you.
But are you inviting her to live there or have you to decided to get married?
Visa requirements may discourage you from bringing her over jsut for a visit.
if you want a vacation go back or go to any of the mediterranean resort areas she willn ot have trouble getting a visa for...Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, etc
jpj:
unless she is coming to you on what is known as a fiance visa, the chances of her being granted entry to the UK are so slim it's almost impossible.Unless of course she has a large bank account or business or both, and can prove quite conclusively to the British authorities that she fully intends to return home on the expiration of her visa they will almost certainly say no.
I would add that NO letter of invitation is neccessary for the British consulate, and in answer to your last question......she does not have ask the Ukranian authorities for anything.
good luck,
Thanks for the info, however it does state about a letter of invitation on the British Embassy Kiev website, so I have started one. Nice to know that she aint got to ask the Ukrainian authories for anything. Bit strict, i thought Stalin was dead !!
I'll have to find away to convince the chap in Kiev that I will put her on the flight back I guess.

the only sort of letter that the guys in Kiev will ask for is proof of residence....for you!!,basically to see if you have enough room to put her up while she stays.
Really I am serious here........unless the above mentioned criteria can be met then you WILL be wasting your breath.
Anyway a fiance visa does'nt mean that you have to marry her you know........LOL,you can take things at a relaxed pace for 6 months and see if things work for you both if not then nothing lost............and you can ask again for the next lady you meet!!
Best route by far.......take it from someone who has tried both ways.....:)))
fiance visa.......DEFINITELY....more expensive than a tourist visa but infinitely easier to obtain, and as I said there is nothing binding in applying for one, plus it gives you the time to see how things pan out between you both.
I would recommend you to call the embassy tomorrow. After what I have heard there should be some special rules for this summer. I don't know this for sure, but I have heard some talk about it. Check it with the authorities just in case.
jpj. listen, call the department of imigration. I was told by everyone that a holiday to australia was impossable. Do ot even try they said. After my wife arrived here she meet a friend and she came for 3 hlouidays here before they got married. Do not take no for an answer. Just ask the right people the right questions. I have not taken a girlere for a holiday but I know a man who has and also another who has looked into it and assures me it is possable. Ring immagration. Do it NOW. Also since I have meet a women from the local migrant resorse centre. She assured me that she can get me a holiday visa. I do not know what to equivelent of this is in uk. Here they help migrants. They contact you lady if she arrived on a fiance visa. Look into it
With respect , I think some of the aforementioned comments are nonsense. As I understand it , if you bring a lady to the Uk on a fiancee visa and then decide not to marry it is not possible to bring another lady to Uk on fiancee visa until 2 years have elapsed .
If a man and woman have met in Ukraine , it is not a problem for her to come as a visitor on a visitor's visa if man can show he has means to pay for everything and her employer gives permission. I have a "playboy" friend who has had quite a few visiting him !!
one thing that will make a big differnce is if you go with her to try and get a visa,we got a visitors visa on the day without any problems, but we had also done a lot of traveling to gether over the previous 2 years, egypit ,thailand and Malasysia, also the more visits you have had to Ukraine will count in your favour
