When did you ask her to marry you and how did you do it? Did you give her a ring? Do you think that you need an expensive ring? I think Marina would be happy with a tap washer provided I gave it to her.

Yes - definably truth in what you said. Girls in central and fizzing cities are less likly to want to leave it. Especially the good looking ones. And lets be honest here, non of us are going to approach or dear I say it "Target" the plainer types - are we.
My 1st lady was from Togliatti. 600k city only 50mins from Samara 1 million people. Still her and her friends, were VERY different to the pretty girls in SPB - Moscow. Her and I spent 1 week in both Moscow & SPB. She was way out of her depth. Her and her daughter felt they were in a different world. I was more relaxed than either of them in those 2 cities.
The girls from these outer regions will definably grab at a chance for western life before the "Big City" girls.
Yes Izi I gave her a ring and it was on my last trip there I asked her. I don't know about what you mean by expensive, I didn't tell Larissa what I spent for the ring. It awed her so much because she had never received one. She never had a engagement ring or a wedding ring. Kind of amazing considering our lifestyle here. I bought her a simple half carat Marquis solitare. All she could do was stare at it, when we went to bed that night she sat up and kept looking at it. Anyway with her it's not about money, though I have another ring for her on my trip in July. I have a friend in the diamond business, no it's not the Shane company. I asked her in Russian to marry me, I told her she didn't have to answer now, but she said in a kidding tone, let me see, most likely, maybe maybe. She is taking an active interest in the remodeling of our home, so what do you think she said buddy?????????
I can't afford too much by American conventional standards but I am going to spend a couple of hundred on something nice. She will be thrilled with anything I give her.
I don't know what the Shane company is.
Shane company is a big diamond retailer and their motto is you have a friend in the diamond business.
Izi, you can buy some good rings at Overstock.com or Bidz.com for reasonable prices and decent clarity of stones, or if you like I could check with my friend and see what I could get you. Probably a little more of a ring than you would buy at a retailer. Email me some time and I will tell you what I paid for Larissa's two rings. The gold bands are inexpensive and you can sometimes get great deals on loose stones and have them mounted.
