I must say that my first trip to Kiev turned out much better than I had hoped. In fact I made the mistake of not staying two extra days, but I had decided to edge my bet if my fiancé and I were totally incompatible; that turned out not to be the case, though we certainly have some differences in our personalities. I will post more, later about my trip.
No, I only watched part of the musical festival. My fiancé wanted to stay in Kiev the whole time but I like a fool that that Odessa would be a romantic getaway. Odessa is a rundown city though I did see a lot of new buildings being built in and around the Black Sea area. She would have been happier staying in Kiev. We rented an apartment for the first five days right up until the time of the musical festival then we went by air to Odessa on a prop job that was at least 30 years old probably 40 years old. The apartment in Kiev was right on the edge of the city center. We could see most of the square from the apartment windows. Kiev is a happening place. There were many well dressed women wearing very hot clothing walking around. Young kids with bottles of beer were omnipresent. And a lot of young people smoked. There were many Gypsies running about begging money; my fiancé had a low opinion of them, shared by other Ukrainians.
Yes it was cool at night in Kiev the first couple of days that I was there but as the days passed the weather got hotter and hotter. It was hot in Odessa. The few taxis that I rode around in had no air-conditioning. Of course we walked everywhere in Kiev and most places in around our hotel in Odessa. My fiancé was very concerned about her clothing getting messed up including her shoes. She hooked one of her heels a couple of times on uneven pavement, stopped and carefully scrutinized the heel to make sure that it wasn’t damaged. Also she would ask me if I wanted some ice cream I said no but then realized that she was the one who really wanted some.
Sounds Good Ice.
I will be in Kiev this time next week. Arrive 2nd. I can imagine what the ladies will look like. Last time I was there was Nov 2003. An Indian chap who lived in Kiev, said to me, if you think they look hot now, come back in the Summer!!!
Its a bit difficult not to look isn't it. Problem when you want to give all your attention to the one you with. I saw Moscow last summer, some of there outfits - Wow. They would definably stop traffic here!!
I will say this ,
I have four trips to Kiev now. If you think for one minute you are going to sit down with your date on Kreshatyk Street at a outside cafe and only have eyes for her, you are dreaming. Especially on a hot summer night and they are smokin hot in the winter.I can only imagine what they are wearing. Ice , several ukrainian girls i know say Odessa is run down and dirty. They want to make Kiev their crown jewel like St. Pete is to Russia and they are. Ice , my apartment was right against Independance Square . It is so nice to step out and be right in the middle of what`s happening and not have to deal with a taxi or metro. Max, i wish i could join you for a beer there. I have covered a lot of ground there.
Yes, Jmoluv Odessa is run down but there was a lot of construction going on near the black sea area. It looked like the city government is planning on making the area a resort location. My guess is that it will be totally different in 5 to 10 years. Big money is pouring into Kiev and Odessa, probably other areas of the Ukraine as well. The window of opportunity for finding someone from the Ukraine is closing. The country had a growth rate of 12.9 percent last year. My advice to anyone thinking of finding a woman from the Former Soviet Union is to go now and get it done.
