Atkin:
If you look around you'll find a few of my posts.
I also went to Riga Latvia, basically because time restraints did not give me the opportunity to get a visa for Ukraine. I love Ukraine and attended two of three scedued Social. I had the time of my life in Ukraine and thought I could repeat the process in Riga, Latvia. You'll find mention in this thread of me signing up to attend a party (sort of a "social" I figured) in Riga with Mystic Cafe.
MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. The women were NOTHING compared to those in Ukraine and they were doing definite wallet fishing.
I then tried to write to some women that I met through fiance.com and luckylovercom. It certainly isn't the fault of fiance.com but these girls were disappointments too. many wanted me to sing with THEIR agency before they would meet me. One woman outright lied about a very important claim she made in her profile. Others were out just to size me up and look for dollar potential. I THOUGHT that I would have an advantage since i was already there. Its a fact (and the women know this) that 95% of the men who write to women will never get out of their Barcoloungers and actually visit the woman. As I said - BEING THERE - I thought I would have an advantage.
I DID meet a wonerful sweet 20 year old woman and she was listed with fiance.com (isn't listed anymore). She was the best and made the trip worth taking.
But I do suggest going elsewhere - I would never go back to Latvia again. Give me Ukraine or Moldova any day.
Never been to Ukraine or Moldova but it seems similar to Russia where I had a good time.I even noticed other disappointed men waiting in the Hotel and getting stood up.I paid for sex and the girl looked great .45 lats 1 hour .I was content and probably saved money!!
I arranged through Fiance.com although some wanted me to use the Chance agency to meet them. This agency is on a black list and they would not quote me a price for a meeting.I heard alarm bells !!
I don't remember the name of the agency - but "Chance agency" seems to ring a bell. First of all - I received an identical form letter from these women telling me that it is dangerous to meet a strange man from the internet - and that if I was truly a gentlemman and cared for their safety - I would cooperate. I would go to the agency, sign up and pay a registration fee and then allow them to set upi our meeting. Since I DID receive identical letters ot was clear that this was a scam. I wrote back saying that I had neither the time nor the inclination to pay additional agecy fees and that I felt that I was being set up. I received letters back tellin me that my response proved that I was insincere as they supposedly suspected.
I think a few short two or three line leters back and forth - and then I told them that I was disappointed with Riga, and Latvia - but certainly not that desperate. as I mention elsewhere eventually I met a very sweet girl - listed with fiance.com and she had private email. If not for the fact that I realized I had strong feelings for my Moldovan - I might have pusued her further.
But all in all Latvia was a bust.
Atkin: I cannot imagine you being stood up in Ukraine or Moldova (I can't promise the girl would have LIKED you but they certainly would have MET you). But in Latvia getting completely sttod up doesn't surprise me.
What jet reports about latvia agency scams is only one of the multitude of stories I read about it that led me to make that well known hard and fast rule NOT to keep in touch with any woman who could/would not be able or willing to correspond directly with me after initial mutual interest.
Don't spend time with women wh odo not speak at least one of your languages.
Atkin every woman I wrote to in Latvia was just a travel guide wanting you to come see them but they would not give phone numbers or address. They would say come see them and they would call....can you say travel agents....lol
Here is my nothing comment.
I have noticed that the Latvian women are just as beautiful as the Russian women - it is amazing what a good camera and makeup/clothes will achieve. However it is always the same - when you coming over? Same with St Petersburg and Moscow.
Let us face it all these women are great no matter where they are from. The problem is that certain places have left a stamp of arrogance on some of these women. My frend Sergey was telling me about this only the other day. He was shooting the shit with a bunch of FSU guys about my efforts and they said that also. Tell him to keep away from StP and Moscow they are all bitches.
The verdict was that it is all to do with the financial situation of the country. Latvia is far more European like therefore more money therefore more choosy.
It cannot be said that they are all money hungry little bitches but it certainly trends that way. I avoid Latvia generally. There has been far far too much water under the bridge through this forum to ignore it. It would be plain foolish.
well think about it carefully. Latvia is a new booming country in Europe. Why would latvian woman want to leave ? Ukraine is different. But i noticed a lot of people driving bmws in kiev. things will change
Is it true or not that a lot of men there are not the best marriage material??? (bad fathers, unfaithful, alcoholics, non-providers) I am not putting all the men into this class but many of them. Maybe that is why they would want to leave. Vanechka, everything you write seems to be about being women being materialistic. That maybe true with a lot of women also but I am not putting all the women into this class. Which way do you lean?? Love or Wealth?????
It seems just as unresonable to state that a majority of russian men are bad fathers, unfaithful, alchoholics, and non-providers. At least thats what I hope. I dont know if you have ever dated a gal who has had abusive parents but the gal can turn out
to be unbalanced herself. As for wealth, I see no problem in a woman wanting a better lifestyle for herself. I dont think this classifies her as being materialistic, but rather just wanting the best for herself and family. I once told a gal that I was thinking about dating a gal who had a college degree and made good money. My friend stated that made me materialistic. I think a woman not sitting on the couch all day, but rather has some ambition and education is sexy. I expect that people male and female both dont want to date slackers.
I did not use the word "majority" only you. Because of my own vagueness, let me explain "bad father". My woman has a child who has a father he has never seen. Not one "Bani" has ever been given to her to help with his sons support. A man who neither provides for or has ever bothered to see him is a bad father in my opinion. Child support is basically unknown in Moldova. All responsibility falls on the woman's shoulders. I agree that there is nothing wrong with a woman wanting a better lifestyle for herself. But if that's all she wants, you can have her. I agree that both parties don't want slackers. I saw a lot of men that just hung-out all day and night but in all fairness to them, the unemployment rate is quite high there. Though I believe almost anyone can find a job if they try hard enough. "Unfaithful" ...... I heard to much about that subject from all the women when I was there. It is very common for a successful man there to have many mistresses. The wife usually stays just for the financial security. This is what I was told from the women there.
I live in Greece and I can tell you there are many women from richer West European countries who came here for tourism, extended their stay or came back again, liked the climate or lifestyle whatever, married with a local and live here now. While working in France for a while for my previous employer, I met several non-French Europeans who worked for us in Paris. A Dutch woman followed her boy friend to France, got the job with us, stayed there, then split with the boy friend, met a French guy. What can you say about them? are they materialistic? this is all bullshit. Then we're all materialistic because we make choices in our lives where we want to be and with whom. People get over it, we live in a global environment, people are free and make choices where they want to be, so do citizens of the FSU.
