I'm looking for inexpensive translation software just something basic so I could write a few e-mails to this ukranian chic i've been talking to for the last month, you know thought it would be a nice gesture.
Dont want to pay a fortune though?
While I'm on here anybody that could give me the skinny on kiev and lugansk, ukraine in general be most apreciated
Oh and I'm fairly new to all this but I've read some of the forum stuff so any info you know Thanks
Welcome Partner!
Believe me, you don't want to write anything to your girl with expensive or inexpensive translation software. It will butcher the hell out of a sentence and cause nothing but total confusion. I have a top of the line Ectaco translator/dictionary unit that sold for $600 and I didn't even bother using it on my trip!(my girl speaks excellent English) I played alot of "Hangman" on it during the long flight. For sale for the low, low price of $399.99
today only.
Hi
Use this http://translation.paralink.com/translation.asp
I used it for 2 years and its very good and FREE. It allows you to double check how the translation has evolved. It has 3 boxs - anyway you will see what i mean
Good luck
Dale
WAZUP & the latest with you ???
I am in Kiev (been here 2 weeks) Loving it, costing next to nothing. Future mother-inlaw has spat the dummy big time !!!!
I use the same one Max is talking about, But like Dale said you got to be careful on your wording, One second you could be talking about something nice.
Next thing your telling her she looks like a toilet.
I am getting better at understanding there speach
But I still make mistakes translating my own letters.
Yesterday I sent out a letter translated to a lady
who was on Vaction with her sister for two weeks.
Nice letter to her, Only one thing I missed
It read like this.
I am very glad you Vainly waisted your time with your sister.
WOW that is not what I wanted to say, so I sent her a letter in
english telling that is not what I ment.
She replied and everything is real good real good.
I think of how many I lost because the wording can just kill
you. I am getting better, but it takes alot of time to develop
that skill.
Any how good luck to you, and check all letters you write.
Hello Maxi -(you mop-headed old fart)......... Wish that I was there with you in Kiev. I always wanted to see that city and my Jenia loves that place. The problem is Jenia has an interview to go to on June 22 and then she will be flying in here (Ohio) on June 26 so you can see that I will be hurting for time. :o)
Yea - gave my abundant curly lox a good perm before my Kiev arrival. :-)
Your affairs seem to be progressing very quick. Is her child heading to Ohio too. Is this just a visit for her or is this the big move ??????
My Lena and I not setting our plans in concrete as yet. I will head home in August and she will follow a little later without daughter, unless our pending visit to NZ Embassy in Moscow late July goes extremely well, and she will accompany me home. I don’t intend getting to excited about a favourable outcome of that visit. But we will succeed - one day soon.
Good luck and get your house work up to date.
Hi Maxi- Yes her son is coming with her and yes this is the big move. I'm kind of sad knowing that I no longer will be able to write to dozen of these women and that everything will be wrapped up soon. But I had a goal and accomplished it and found the best woman for me! It will be a little strange after being able to do anything I pleased for the past 21 yrs.
wow-you are the consummate bachelor! After my last 6 year tempest,I would have tried to dissuade you from losing your solitary bull status. Accountability, mutual decision making, sacrifices, compromises. But it is change which we seek, and hopefully so much the better for all of us!! You must be nervous. I am wondering what gives you the most comfort in your anticipation ( maybe anxiety?), and what fears do you have for the transition and settling in period? Are they mostly cultural or psychological for you?
