I will be leaving for Russia on the 9th of July for 2 weeks. I haven't been very active posting to this site in the past but I have read many posts from others. Thanks for all the advise! BTW - if anyone will be in SPB from July 10 - 24 let me know and perhaps we can meet up. I originally booked the trip back when it seemed that I had several RW to meet. But somehow, when the dust settled and hundreds of emails later, I am not even sure now if I have any. I have used at least 3 different web sites over 6 months. But it is still a vacation and I am sure it will be enjoyable. If anyone has any suggestions for agencies which I could visit while I am there I would be most grateful. All these women were impatiently waiting to meet me and when i said the tickets were purchased and gave them an arrival date and almost ALL mysteriously changed their minds at the very last second. . Only two private e-mailers did meet me though. That is why i had a back up plan. I went to a meatmarket convention. Loaded with hookers. It was pure grabass. We seem to have a great deal in common and she is easy to get to in Moscow. Much easier than Ekaterinburg. Not much different than a trip to Europe. I already have a plane ticket and my years business invitation arrived about 2 days ago. I even already had the time booked from work. I talked to Elena today while she was on vacation. I wanted to discuss with her what she thought a reasonable time would be for me to come and visit. In other words what would be a sensible period of time getting to know one another before I committed to go. I didn't want the same thing as what happened with Marina. i.e. callous as it sounds I want to spend time with the woman without the child's presence interfering with this delicate initial time together, that did not help things with Marina believe me. Also she needs to be able to take time from work. I am not rushing this. There is enough leeway in my finances and schedule that I can go again in November if this were to fail. I have several choices. Imagine my surprise when she already had thoguht of this. Se said July is fine. Then laughed a little. Apparently her son is going away somewhere for the month and her mother is going away to Samar with her sister for the month. She can easily get another couple of weeks off work. I am still in shock. So I went to my boss and asked her if it was ok for me to go on such short notice having cancelled tentatively from before. I was thinking that'll killit for sure. Nope, she gave it a two thumbs up blessing and oak leaves. Sometimes you have to go with the signs right Spirit :)) Izi is happy right now. If things fall flat a great vacation in Moscow is just what the doctor ordered. I am really looking forward to seeing Red Square and the Kremlin. Incidentally she is a doctor. My tip is to let the agency set up dates for you rather than pay for telephone numbers and struggle with language and/or being unable to get hold of a lady. With the agency its 'No date, no fee.' It is a small, family-run agency here: (deleted by moderator as advertisment) I met seven girls through them. All were sincere, honest, and sweet. There were four that I liked enough to continue seeing, and one that I'm now engaged to. The way the agency works is that you send your photos and short bio to them with a list of girls that you are interested in. They will show your profile to the girls and ask the girls if they want to meet you. When I did this about 75% of the girls that I liked wanted to meet with me. I didn't exchange any letters with the girls beforehand. When I got to St. Petersburg they scheduled meetings with the girls that wanted to meet me. The agency owner, Sergey, brought the girls to meet me, and then left us alone. After that, we were free to arrange our own future meetings and exchange phone numbers, emails, etc... For some reason, girls from St. Petersburg seem to get a bad rap on this forum. (Personally, I don't see the problem with asking someone after a few letters when they are coming to visit.) However, the girls that I met in S.P. were wonderful. They were educated, cultured, and truly interested in a relationship. Anyway, St. Petersburg is a great city. If you want any advice on what to do, let me know (I've been there many times now).
