I like these people. I ended up getting a ticket from JFK to Odessa for $678 + $227 in taxes. Another $155 for a ticket from Ft Lauderdale to JFK via Delta and I am done. A total of $1060. That is cheaper than anybody I have found so far. It is cheaper than when I went to Ekaterinburg.
I give it 2 thumbs up. :))
Agree
They (Aerosvit) seem to be very reasonable on price. For some reason they charge their own people more than foreigners.
BKK-Kiev = $608
Kiev - BKK = $800+ these are both return prices.
Must be to stop all the locals leaving for Thailand (which they do not require Visa for)
yep, if I end up being successful in Ukraine I shall return there using only Aerosvit. I was told the service and food onboard are good also. I hope so that is a looong flight. :))
Cant remember what the food was like - to be honest. Mind you I was getting abit numb by then. I had already done 15 hours when I bordered that Aerosvit flight to Kiev. They were 50mins late leaving BKK and we sat on the tar mat at Kiev for 15 mins.
Are you flying to Kiev then down to Odessa ??? Changing terminals is easy in Kiev. Just a short walk.
Izi I flew Aerosvit from Simferopol to Kiev, Service was good and the ride was nice. I've noticed a drop in prices lately. I was amazed how in March I flew from Chicago to Kiev Roundtrip for $597 and in July it cost over $1000. Oh well such is life. I have a horror story flying Delta and Air France, they both suck and can kiss my ass. I was so pissed at CDG in Paris I had to stay a night over. The French just have a way of pissing me off. Then I get into it with some raghead while I'm standing at the bar. The asshole flips a cigarette at me and say's fuck Americans. I was pissed already and grabbed the asshole, luckily the French soldiers in the airport saw what happened and took the idiot away. I will never fly Delta or Air France or any flight that connects in Paris. Flying back I came through Frankfort. I will say one thing about the Germans, when it comes to security, they are thorough and quick about it. I was really impressed and not annoyed as I usually get going through security.
I'm flying Aerosvit today and am bringing my fiancee' and her son home on Friday. Aerosvit is the only way I have flown. I love the non-stop from NY to Kiev.
The only complaint I have is that certain groups of people, who shall remain nameless, are not the most pleasant with whom to travel: smelly, inconsiderate. One flight was leaving late and then "they" decided to start praying in the aisles, refusing to return to their seats so the plane could leave.
I am thinking about taking a trip to Omsk in Siberia around the 1st of Oct. I know that I will need to fly to Moscow and then catch a commuter flight to Omsk. Does anyone know which airport I should fly to from Missouri to Moscow?
Or I could fly to Ekaterinburg from Missouri and then catch a plane to Omsk.
goldarnit I have no opinion. Guess I will have to drink another delicious strawberry margarita. 6 ounces sweet strawberry smoothie mix,8 or 10 large California giant strawberries ( suck without the sweet concentrated strawberries),about 4 ounces of lemon or lime, and ice in a pitcher. Add tequila generously. Wasted away again in Margaritaville. How about that stuff? 6 topics at my command. WOrld domination is mine!!! BY the way--huckleberries in MOntana are big as blueberries this year--incredible for daiquiri`s,and 20--30 dollars a gallon.
Don't buy domestic tickets from Aerosvit though, they are scamming you.
If you buy, well in advance, a domestic ticket in Ukraine the fare should be around USD40 including taxes, i.e. USD80 return and including taxes, the tax being approximately USD2 per ticket. Off Aerosvit's website they want to charge a minimum of USD120 return but then want to sting you approximately another USD100 for taxes, what frigging taxes?
A better option is www.ukrainefare.com, they can charge approx USD60 or so per ticket including taxes and a further USD15 (total) delivery, for as many tickets as you like, and their man will meet you in Borispol arrivals to hand you the tickets personally.
get used to the fact that local tickets can only be booked one month in advance or less, i.e. quite likely after you will have booked your main flight.
No worries cool dude, they'll be there, just get used to their way of doing 'bizz'. In fact it's not at all uncommon to arrive, buy the next leg's ticket and simply hop on the plane.
I'd try to avoid switching airports in Moscow, but if you have to either allow yourself plenty time for this or brace yourself for an expensive taxi. Domodedovo is probably your logical choice, but scratch around.
I will check that out. I am planing on going in Oct but I can wait until Nov. All of this should be over by next year. I can't afford to play this game like some of you.
Do you guys have any problems makeing these flights if you do not speak russian? I am planning to go this fall..not sure If I want to book it through one of the tours.
Well my two cents on Aerosvit.
The flight from Amsterdam to Kiev left 1 hour late, the meal sucked. They only had a fish meal for lunch. I hate fish so I ate the little rice and the cookie and called it lunch.
The flight attendants were beautiful though. They looked like models. Gave me a good feeling of things to come when I landed. Not like the ugly women on our domestic airlines.
The flight from Kiev to Dnepropetrosvk was an adventure. I did not know they still flew planes that old. I half expected the pilot to have a white scarf and yell "contact" out of his window. The plane was old and smelly and I think the air I felt near my feet was from a hole in the fuselage and not the airconditioning.
Security was good though. No problems.
By the way, I just learned that the Ukrainian government is waving the visa if you have traveled within the last 6 months. I am not sure when this starts.
