I am sure Estonia is now part of the European Union, so there should be no Visa needed if I fly out there from the UK, but could someone verify this for me please?
The easiest way to get there is of course by car.. You can rent a car at the airport. If you can't afford the rental car you can get a taxi (Make sure it is a white Opel!) at the airport and go to the bus-station. It should be no more than £3-4 or something. I think there are also trains, so you could try to check what is best when it comes to timing. This city is quite different from Tallinn or Pärnu, I think it has to consist of at least 90% russians. The center of the city isn't so bad, but I would be a little careful there, especially in the suburbs. I think this actually is the 3rd largest city in Estonia, not too big, not too small...
Some Estonian friends of mine tell me the Russians in Estonia are not the same as those in Russia and are treated like second class citizens, with less economic opportunity, since Estonian independence.
I think the Russian women there are even more highly motivated to leave. Be careful. QC
Stop speaking crap about Estonia, russians are NOT second class citizens! If they are : why they dont leave the country where they are FIRST class citizens...Russia! And Narva is normal town!
And its the cheapest way to reach to Narva by bus! And jaffi if you need any information you can mail me because I actually live in Estonia! If you fly by Easyjet and take bus...its doesnt cost you anything. My brit boyfriend is totaly amazed about Russian border and Narva castle!
http://www.eurolines.ee/index.php?action=2&id=20 Bus info for Narva! You can book tickets online! But why your girlfriend dont meet you in Tallinn????????
I think you are right NOR, but dont take always seriously what estonians talk, they just often make ironic jokes! NARVA is secure in daytime defenetly! If you are drunk (as often tourists from nordic countries) and at night I dont really recommend hang alone!
Well, in this case I have seen the city myself, but I heard from some sweet person that the she would not walk there alone. It was at least from her point of view not ironic, may be she is just chicken? I don't know, but she is born in Estonia and seem to be polite and honest when she talk.
What do you mean drunk?? LOL... I think you have mixed the cards here, you must be talking about the Finnish guys.. hehe :)))
NOR, I dont argue, maybe Im not sweet person :):) I personally not afraid of walking alone in Narva and I have done that several times! If your girlfriend is russian by nationality and afraid of walking in russian town..isnt that ironc?
In that jaffys case I dont understand why he must go ALONE to Narva and why the woman he must meet cant go to Tallinn! Its so small country and really easy to get from Narva to Tallinn, bus ticket is 10 euros or something!
What I would worry is : what citizenship that woman have because if she is immigrant and she havent estonian citizenship she cant freely travel to UK! But love wins everything...isnt it!
