I'm on one of these russian dating sites and was going on a tour to odessa in a few weeks here. So they gave me a bunch of free credits to write some of the women on their site. Normally I just wouldnt pay for this (not that I'm above it), it just always seemed like a scam to me. Well I found a girl that I thought was cute, started writing her, and like a speedometer click click went my credits. As I was watching them deplete i was wondering A. Is this a real women writing me (ie the one in the picture?). B. Why dont i just send her my email address and get away from this credit nonsense. So I give her (him?/it?) my email address in hopes of a more free (in more than just the financial sense) conversation. She writes me back that she will not write to my address and will only relay messages through the website/service. I'm wondering... obviously these women are paid to write dopes like us arnt they? I mean think about it, 5.00 dollars a credit, how many conversations can you have? Isnt this just like the 1-900 sex phone line thing? Where both the company who owns the service, plus the girl answering the phone gets paid per minute, but in this case its per "credit". Am I just paranoid or is this the reality of these dis-services? I mean this is why i've opted to fly on a social trip to russia rather than wasting my time and money on a pointless credit venture.
RussianR,
You are correct that the pay per letter are probably not above board. there are however sites like this one that charge a monthly fee for unlimited e-mails, on Elena's Models you pay once for the first contact then all contacts to that person through their site are free, East-West match also just charges a reasonable monthly fee and you can also instant message ladies that have that ability. I have been at this for over one year now, been to Ukraine twice and have used this site exclusively until recently and have been more than happy with their service.
Avoid pay for letter sites. Agencies also can create a dependency for these girls, one that they cannot successfully communicate with you because of language differences and cultural issues. If a girl will not give you her personal email, home address and phone number if she has one, it's time to move on. She isn't really serious or she isn't real at all. You have to remember, the agency is a business and their business is translation of letters and other services they provide.
I was lucky in my case that Larissa was real. When I asked for her address to send her a card she not only gave me her address but home and cell phone number. Though the agency tried to discourage her from writing only me and then they asked her to tell me not to write everyday. It was even told her that I would probably not come at all and she should write others. She believed in me and I have been there three times in the last year. So much for the "Keyboard Romeo Theory."
There are many ladies here you can communicate with everyday. From many different agencies. It is also our due diligence to research both our ladies and the agencies to see if they are on the level or not. Good luck on your social trip. I don't know if this is your first trip over or not. A trip to the country will help educate you on many things.
get her phone number and address. if they do not give it to you, make your conclusion. we have discussed a lot recently about pay per letter services. read forum.
On the surface I would say yes, but it is a hard call since I am not "in the loop" so to speak. There are reasons why she might want to stay with that service, maybe she pays nothing for her letters and they might give her free translations. But I am just throwing out things to think about. Personally I would not do business with any site where you pay per letter. There are way to many avenues for them to clean out your wallet. And with that type of service you do, in my opinion, have more of a chance of writting to Boris when you are thinking you are wirtting to Natasha.
Sometimes you have no choice but to use a pay for letter agency. My lady was using another agency in Dnepropetrosvk Ukraine. The charged her for each letter translated sent and received. The letters were coming to my e-mail so I did not pay anything.
Well after spending time with her this past summer in her home I told her to change agencies so it was free for her and I would get charged. I know that money is tight for her and we are going through the K1 visas process. Since they charge me by the letter and the length does not matter, I save up what I want to say and write her long letters. At least 1-2 pages worth. I only did this because we have been been writing for a while and we have been intimate and spent time together. And she is my fiance now.
