-could mean many thing.
(like dumping dirty clothes all over the place instead of in the appropriate bin, leaving the toilet seat up, etc.).
So, better spell it out:
"... I ask that you do not have bad habits such as drinking, smoking or drugs. ..."
Usually bad habits mean - smoking, heavy drinking, drugs. Some also mean a bad habit - is beating your wife and children.
But of course it may differ:)
You never dont get peace, dont you, Geriatrix? Mail to girl and ask : What are bad habits for you? What are bad habits in Danmark (if you live in that country, dk?), I think they arent sooooooooooo much different in Ukraine or what ever country you look for. Poor Ptichka have work and school and she must whaste her time excplaining simple things!
Maybe you must make career writing profiles for dating agencies, when all lads are satisfied!
Annika, don't worry, I received my Master's degree in summer 2004:)) Though now of course I get ready to go to graduate school...but I still have some time:) And by the way I enjoy communicating with my friends here:)))
So I will write in dating site : Im looking for man who dont leave toilet seat up. I will give you 100 procent guarantee that I dont find nobody to date!
I dont want to be critical, but I sort of know people, if I read your posts Geriatrix, I think, arent you a bit of the person people think hes a nerd? Sorry if Im wrong maybe you are super-truper business person. Just a guess?
Annika77,
re
"...Mail to girl and ask : What are bad habits for you?..."
-the quote in the first post in this thread *was* lifted from a profile.
The toilet seat issue is very important for American women (for some obscure reason).
By the way, Annika77, 'double negatives' are a 'no-no' in English (whereas they are OK in some other languages).
(..."...dont find nobody...."; ".. You never dont get peace, dont you....", etc.)
Ptichka,
re
".... Some also mean a bad habit - is beating your wife and children.

Is there anybody in your part of the world who do not think it is a bad habit?
Yes I know what I make mistakes in double negatives, but again maybe you excuse me that ...because its only my 3. language? What you think "mister negative"?
If you have such habit to moan about any detile, you dont find women from west and east too!
geriatrix, yes there are people who believe "if he beats me, then he loves me"...and some men believe that a woman needs a good beating so that she realizes who is the "head of the family"...
nasfan6, but what can I do about that? We even have such a saying "if he beats me, it means he loves me"...I don't know from where this saying came to us, but it does exsit....
That saying also exists in America, it is a foolish saying for women who are so dependant on a man, that if he beats her it's okay. Hitting a woman, except in the defense of one's life is something a real man will never do.
Are Russian women as 'un-reasonable' as western women?
-Who know exactly how a man should behave, then fall in love with 'male chauvinist pigs' - one after the other as if they did not learn from the first one.
??
Without doubt, the FSU woman wants a man that will fight of invaders, hunt and kill the evening meal and when at home shag 'm whenever the hell he feels like it.
re
"... We say in my country : one fool can ask more than 10 smart guys to answer! ...."
#1 I think many languages/cultures have similar sayings.
#2 Literature, film, and our daily environments show many - really many - examples of women who *say* that they want a 'nice guy', a 'real gentleman' - than fall for a 're-blooded male' who treats them like shit.
Are the Russian women also like that?
(perhaps all women are?)
