VNV
Keep in touch, it would be great to meet another mate in Kherson in November. I wrote to Freebird but he didn't reply. Was it something I said ?? :))
Anyway keep me abreast of your plans. There are a couple of cool places to have a drink of excellent Ukraine beer and if my Elena runs amok in that deli again so much bloody food you won't believe it. :)) It'll be fun :))
Ok
So here we are:))
Today is Monday 7th November and I am leaving on Wednesday night.
I get to London Thursday morning.
Spend the day and night in a B&B near Heathrow.
Shall try and get my British passport renewed.
Then early Friday morning it is off to Kiev!
7pm I leave Kiev on the overnight train to Kherson.
Arrive in Kherson at 9am.
Fight my way through the marching band and see if I can find a tall good looking woman that doesn't speak English.
Actually the famous Anna will be there. There are quite a few from the forum who know Anna at this point. She is a the tall, blonde interpreter.
This might be the next to last time I shall go in the near future. If this works then I will make one more trip in February and the next trip will not be me making it. It will be my new family :))
So everybody wish me luck and awaaaay I go.
Meanwhile both Freebird and VNV are supposed to be there in November. I have written to both of you using your forum email addresses.
Nothing !!
Sooooo if you guys would like to meet me in Kherson (pearl of the south) drop me an email and we will hook up at the John Howard.
Izi, my apologies....I missed your first email. Don't take it personally....LOL....I don't check that account too often....only when I want a mortgage, cheap viagra, penile enlargement, or invitations to gay Vietnamese chat rooms. I'll email before you go, but will you be checking your mail while you are there? I'm starting in Kiev and am not sure which day I'll land in Kherson. Do you have a Ukranian cell #?
VNV
I go to the internet cafe sometimes everyday. I check my email (yes the one I use here is quite genuine). I also look into the forum and check what is going on in Ebay. I also pay my bills over there. Aren't computers wonderful?
I will probably have a phone again becase I will borrow one from Natalya. Don't know the number though. However the agency's number is:-
phone/fax: +38(0552)494450
cell:+38 050 8363424
They will always take a message.

The name of the agency is Kherson Pearls. It is run by Natalya Polischuk. They have a website which is sorely in need of updating. Just plug in the name in the web search engine and you will find them. Natalya has an interpreter called Anna.
The 'tour' is not a tour as in AFA. No, it is a package which includes a whole bunch of stuff. No socials they introduce you to women one on one and it is very nicely done. I only met one bitch.
I recommend them.
Tonight I have to pack. Jetson has got my cat and I have got his suitcase. A fair swap I thought.
There is crap spread all over the couch in preparation for the 'big pack'.
Bottom line is I have forgotten something. I know it. I guarantee it. I dread it.
Deodorant?
Overcoat?
Body spray?
Underwear?
Hat/cap?
Slippers?
Camera?
Shaving gear?
Batteries?
PDA/laptop?
Charger?
Euromate (plug adaptor)?
A ring / THE ring?
Her presents)?
Don't tell me you forgot the condoms..... ;-)
Have a good time there, and good luck if you need it.
Thank you TD and WT
I think I have everything except for a strange email request I got today. She said would I bring a ripe mango because all they get is green ones!! Firstly when you enter America they are super fussy about bringing in fruit and veg. I can only assume that entering the UK is the same. Also it is going to be 3 days before I get there. I don't think a mango is going to make it. It will turn into sludge in my suitcase.
Solution:-
Supermarket tonight to see if they have some canned mango!!
Actually the bottom line here is the innocence and simple requests. Sometimes I forget that she has no real knowledge of the outside world and something as simple as a mango is a super luxury to her.
I bought a set of little toy cars for Ilya and she said not to buy him anything because she wants a cartoon tape for him. I said he is getting toy cars AND he can have as many video tapes as he wants. This lack of materialism I find very charming. It really doesn't seem to take much to make her happy and it is such a change to have a woman in my life this attractive but without the ostentation.
An American woman would have wanted a mango for sure but made of solid gold and lifesize.
The other thing is I am going to give a full report on this 1st class overnight train journey from Kiev to Kherson.
There hasn't been much info in the forum about this and I think it could be extremely useful. All we got was Tim H's doom and gloom about it.
Frankly the train is cheaper and puts me exactly where I want to be. I will take a few pictures of the inside of the train and compartment and tell everybody how I find the carriage, platform etc
This promises to be fun and interesting.
take an avo or mango, roll it into several layers of newspaper-sheets and leave for a day or two at room temperature (~25C) - ripe! Buy there, don't bring.
The US also careful with live organic material? Vist Down Under or NZ, they are absolutely paranoid about it, not even funny really.
